Something else.
I haven't seen "Get Out." I have a bootleg copy, but I haven't made it 20 minutes in. Probably never will. (I really don't have much use for fiction. What's the point?? Even if it's supposed to "teach a lesson," it's a made-up story whose rules probably don't reflect the real world. No reason for fiction to be taught in schools, when you think about it.) Anyway: Since that movie's come out... I always hear Black people, referring to one another as being in "the sunken place." Only Black folks are saying this about one another. Listen, I don't give a sh*t about the movie. Do ya'll not see... that this was social programming?? |

Because that was a movie... whatever "the sunken place" is supposed to be.
It's not real life. It doesn't represent something that actually exists. (Or, it didn't.) Yet lo and behold; That concept has been carried over, into everyday dialogue... between Black people. |

Eric monte In order to strip power away productions companies hire tv writers and slowly begin to shift the show in the direction they would Like Keenan ivory wayans went thru the same thing with in loving color I read the book “Homie don’t play that” Fox stressed tf out of him Keenan hired comedians who already had their own characters/ sketches and fox was pissed becuase the comedians didn’t want to use any material from Fox’s writers

I don't think that video was too crazy, he actually physically showed the location and its symbolisms. Anyway because of the nature of Youtube... ehh, we'll see.

I mean James role could go to a "dark" mexican as well.
Works every day he could, always on the hunt for work, always trying to show his kids that hard work pays off etc, loves a big ole ugly woman..... Fine as fk daughter... Little runt kid who grows up in a day and age with more information available..... yea maybe a mexican, dominican, haitain.... But the actor who was cast was perfect for that role, that n*gga was my tv father in a sense. I know I wouldnt want my kids to look up to another as a father figure but sh*t im there. I was heated when i noticed that he never was coming back. For alot of us James was really by far the best role model we had.......dude from family matters also did alot. ![]() It is what it is, #teamlightskin in the building |
