The forum wouldn't had matter...during a interview or on Oprah his comments are still a form of racism.

The problem with Liam Nesson is that this admission wasn't warranted in the first place.

It was decades ago in which he claims he atone from, so why go public unless he feels gulity then begs the question is he really sorry about what he did?

People don't have the patience and wait for it, tolerance. To really hear Liam and what he's saying.

Imagine thinking some racist sh*t.

Knowing you thought some racist sh*t.

Was going to act on that racist sh*t.

ACTED ON THAT RACIST sh*t.

THeeeeeeen you don't. Mentally, that's gotta take you places. He thought sh*t was sweet and the times were safe to have a "dialogue"

[pic - click to view]

What's crazy to me is, how ANYBODY of color or period for that matter acts like oh yeah. I would never act on some racial bias towards somebody based on what they have done to someone else.

But you have a racial bias
[pic - click to view]

So does it really make sense to attack someone who is basically saying, I was in a dark place once. (don't ask me how) I did and thought things that I shouldnt have, it was wrong.

Without being asked, or in a situation to do so.

HE KEPT THIS INSIDE HIM. Imagine for a second the man WAS racist. He just atoned. Isn't this THE EXACT THING WE WANT.

So destroying him is counterproductive, but I understand why it's happening. It's unfortunate. Could've lead to something truly profound, but everybody is so caught up in themselves and the overriding theme of.

SOMETHING HAPPENED. REACT. Progress won't happen the way it should.

It sucks, but life is like that. Fu*k u gone do.

Counterpoint: Liam actually dropped bodies, the guilt is getting to him.
He hasn't acquired the skill of forgetting.

But wouldn't feeling guilty mean that he's aware of how wrong his way of thinking was?

I agree with this, I do give him some credit for admitting to that and being ashamed of it. I mean I expect most white ppl to exhibit some form of racism if they live in the western world to begin with. With that said to deny that at one point he was racist is where it like , “come on Liam”.

If you wanted to k*ll any black person for what one black person allegedly did to your friend that’s just reaffirming your already embedded racism. A man has a right to atonement though. But fully admit and move forward.

I don’t get upset if black still on some fu*k em sh*t. Historically and in today we deal with sh*t for just existing so an apology or admission of guilt just ain’t enough.

I'm saying the guilt must be eating him up from inside to involuntary deluge this information decades later.

Someone that has atone and have actually moved on, would not still be talking about this.

I think Liam Nesson believed this would be like a teachable moment, but instead it backfired.

i think trevor noah is under-rated... and has the best spin (and i don think any body could have worded it any better then he did)

and the idiots who disagree with NOAH are idiots... cause the forum does matter, if he was on Arsenio or Oprah or some one we respected and had a discussion about what he said, it would make a huge difference.

and NOah is right, whats to gain by coming out and saying this stuff if in the end you just gonna get lynched?

thats like confessing at church and when u leave the cops are there waiting to arrest you and as u look back at the preacher shaking his head and wagging his finger at you and pointing to god, like "i told you, that sin will get cha!"

condemn the thoughts, not the man who can admit his wrong... and obviously he gains nothing by sharing that with us... hopefully what LIAM said will help more euros and whites come to grips with their racist thoughts and also evey other culture... cause LIam is quite a respected kinda guy, who lots of ppl look up to!

100% Agree with everything he said

Social Justice Warriors like Wale and "black twitter" are quick to cancel someone instead of analyzing a situation

Just like alcoholism the first step to changing any problem is recognizing and accepting its a problem

There's white people that would think like Liam was thinking and see absolutely nothing wrong with their behavior

THOSE are the racists

The problem is that Liam Nesson said(at least in the beginning, don't know what he's said since), that he was sorry essentially that he felt the need to exact revenge, not necessarily on the fact that his thoughts on harming any random black person as a proxy were misguided and indeed, racist.

It's noble that he came out and spoke out against it, but the fact that he even felt comfortable saying this in a public form is problematic in itself and reflects that the country doesn't care about black people. I mean this dude basically said he was waiting for ANYONE to come at him. Didn't specify men, could have been women, children, etc.

Trevor was spot-on. But it's still fu*k Liam Neeson for the GMA interview with Robin. I was going into watching that interview to try and give him the benefit of the doubt/do what Noah was saying. Liam didn't atone. He deflected and tried to excuse. He didn't own up to what he was thinking and feeling, and he tried to normalize it with the premise of defending the honor of his late friend, a white woman. Black men don't get afforded the luxury of thinking/feeling some fu*ked up sh*t and it being normalized unless you're k*llmonger.

My sister is a Psychologist

She said "What Niam felt is actually very normal, It was displaced rage which was manifested from a place haplessness"

Crazy thing is before I asked her I knew the answer, this sh*t happens everyday but people were so focused on the race sh*t . Especially with kids/young adults, they get into f*ghts with others kids/young adults from this block ,this building, this street , that street. Now they hate everyone from this street, that street...etc

the angry internet army didn't even bother to give a fu*k what Liam Neeson even said
it was pretty much 'ooh girl he cancelled he racist'

like he pretty much said due to his influences at the time he was brought up with racist sh*t and his rage made him think and do racist stuff
then he realized it was wrong and is sad about it

at the end of the day its common af for people over there to be mad racist

EXACTLY. He only showed he was sorry to himself for weighing himself down with revenge, he didn't give the proper apology for the racist implications of what he was admitting.

HE TOLD ON HIMSELF-AND ON ALOT OF "GOOD OLE" WHITE PEOPLE THAT CLAIM NOT TO BE RACIST.

Most white people know they benefit from racism and the ramifications of how society makes it harder for black people to exist because of it. Liam essentially opened up the thought process of how white people who try to be seen as "good people" really think about blacks. Yeah, I won't call you a ****** to your face, hell, I'll lay down and have s*x with your women, but cross me or my kind and it's off with your head because you know who is in charge here.

That is the way systematically and historically over centuries oppression has went on. No decent race of human being for generations and generations just sits by and allows the inhumane treatment of a whole race of people without feeling it was justified. White people like Liam I have met/lived with/dealt with my whole life. They want to act like they're not racist when they really are. They are the type of white folks that black people pander to/why the whole ideology of "Uncle Tom" and "Aunt Tina" exists in the first place. They appear to not be as bad as the standoffish, blatant racist in order to gain the loyalty and the devotion of certain black people.

Trevor was on point but I still say fu*k Liam Neeson. His attempt at an apology failed miserably. Oh and Michelle Rodriguez is a dumb a*s c*nt that I don't fw like that anymore either for the stupid a*s sh*t she said. Cuz a white dude tongue kiss a black woman he not racist? Smh I guess all those slave owners having kids with slave women weren't racist, either. Just using black men's bodies for labor and the black women's bodies for pleasure. All business, nothing personal.

*Blacks need to stop including hispanics in our struggle. Unless a latin person is of african heritage, they struggle ain't ours. Just cuz a bunch of Spaniards fu*ked a bunch of different races of people hundreds of years ago don't mean every Latin person is on our team*

Man, that's why this sh*t is so fu*ked up. Mfs wanna make excuses for damn near anything when a black person is wronged, especially a black man. Unless a black person is k*lled, a*saulted, or called the n-word there's an excuse. Even then they try to find an excuse. And all these bedwenches/sucka a*s black dudes that too busy tryna fall in love/have babies with any race outside their own cuz they hate themselves only makes sh*t worse. Smh...

That's cool and all, but we have to realize it aint just that he felt this way. He actually went out and ACTED on it. He said he WENT to those places and hope someone BLACK started sh*t with him. So what would have happened if someone did?
