On March 19, 1994, Snoop Dogg performed his cover of Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick’s classic “La Di Da Di” on Saturday Night Live wearing a red, white, and blue striped rugby shirt with “TOMMY” across the chest. At that point, Tommy Hilfiger was gaining prominence in both the hip-hop community and the mainstream, but the brand further solidified itself following Snoop’s endorsement.

I’ve been looking for this shirt ever since I saw this performance...

Bruh, SO much sh*t popped off because of these Avirex leathers.

You HAD to be with the sh*ts to even wear one. Because you WOULD get tested. sh*t was like a championship belt. Everybody wanted a shot at the title.

Dam I remember the feeling of seeing theses ads in mags, peeping the fits, then going all out your way to find the nearest retailer etc

Nowadays sh*t is handed to you so easy, takes the sentimental value away from the gear now

I want it, I got it, wore it, now fu*k it

" Jay-Z and Dame Dash eventually managed to get penciled in for a meeting with the top execs at Iceberg, where they tried to convince the company to start a line of rapper-endorsed clothing. The pitch failed, most likely because the Iceberg execs listened to Jay’s first two albums and realized Jay doesn’t know fashion, given the fact that he raps about being a 'Mafioso' who wears jeans. If anyone knew about Mafia fashion, it was the Iceberg executives in Italy. "

Please note:

There are only 3 Machines in the WORLD that can knit certain Coogi + iCEBERG sweaters. As a Luxury Goods Exclusivist i feel the need to make you guys aware of that. So when you guys ask "why do they cost so much?" it's because it takes literally thousands of man made hours depending on the sweater to make it.

In addition Cuggi is not Fake* Coogi. They also went by that name for short period. It is the equivalent of the History line for iceberg. Altho, it is extremely rare you will see items spelled as such state-side. These can be found by collectors located in Melbourne Australia.

Coogi is now defuct and owned by the dude from Shark Tank who owns FuBu also.
Smh. They quality went downhill and they are no longer handmade.
Quality has gon way down and they are machine-pressed.

Are you located in NYC ?

Im cool with Andrew Feldmann who is head of Tommy's current Creative Design team.

They released an extremely limited 'Capsule Collection' a few years ago and gifted me anything i wanted to actually model and keep. #NoHomo

I normally don't deal with domestic brands as a Luxury Good Exclusivist but do make an exception for vintage Tommy, Nautica + a select few pieces from Ralph.

Note: The color bleeds on this shirt are crazy.
Dry Cleaning something thats made in america jus makes me feel funny lol.
i ruined 2 of these already but i agree the design is fire.

I’m from Jersey... collect vintage Polo/Nautica myself, with a couple of Tommy pieces here and there. I understand the color bleeds, definitely ruined some of these style rugby’s in the 90’s by washing them, even handwash/woolite isn’t gentle enough.

Funny thing is Coogi has always been for old people (60+) or tourists here in Australia. Crazy how Biggie flipped it to a desirable brand. Still never caught on in Australia though.

The resurgence of the Puma x Coogi callaboration got the younger generations attention about 3 years ago.

Are you from australia? lol i find that hilarious but then alot of their color schemes do resemble "ugly xmas sweaters" vibes.

Biggie def put those on the map.

Don't remember any ad's for these brands, and maybe this was just an NYC thing I was too young to know anything outside my area. But these two were kinda trendy at the moment in the 90s. Maybe I was just lower income but I remember a lot of kids at school hopped on these.

Bear Jackets. Reversible with the graphic on the "inside"

And don't ask me why these popped into my head but I remember for a quick moment everyone wanted these Cybertek pullover windbreakers.

Honorable Mention.

At least in Brooklyn for a bit a LOT of people had DKNY boxcap / 5 panel hats
