I have so many questions.
So to follow your logic [B]Jay Z paying for the usage of the sample but not giving "credit" to Ice T is worse than not paying for a sample but mentioning it on a podcast that 5 people probably heard. I have that right?

Its not my logic, im describing da situation from ICE- T's point of view.
-what iced t is referencing is actually culturally & courtesy..
-He's framing his critique in terms of heralding respecting its origins.... its a taste and courteous things vs a monetary scenerio...
-ICE-T's point of view only has some validity since when you sign over rights for your IP to be used in other ways, you kinda give up da right to gripe about it it id doesn't live up to your expectations...
If you seen Vlad TVs interview with AZ da drug dealer and how he felt disgruntled with da process of how his intellectual property rights were bought by new line Cinema and adapted to a way where he wasn't all the way satisfied with its results, its da same idea...
Actor who played AZ in a follow up Vlad TV interview explains that once you sign over your rights can't really gripe about creative control or how much of a how much paying homage/Tribute is enough to fit your satisfaction.
Sure you
paid me for work, but don't act like i dont exist either in its creative process when you make it a hit record....is his point.
Like i said before, jigga been doing this...its something people do in rap, some people have a flavour for it, some people find it unsavoury...its a taste thing.
Btw, Juan Epstein is probably da 1st rap podcast ever...u might wanna give it its proper due....

Whys Boxden hate I mean so jealous of this man?

There's always been a contingent of rap fans outside boxden and in this forum that felt like Jay-Z didn't properly earn it his place among raps pantheon....
Some of it has some validity considering he was faking his notoriety early on when no one really cared about Jay-Z outside his core base (1996-1997) others will say he never really had his own year which also has some validity...
Jay-z's superpower has always been his enduring durability as being consistently good for a very long set of time...he basically outlasted a good portion of his counterparts...
Has he been unquestionably da king of raps in any year? I don't think so but does he earn his place has one of raps greats? absolutely.

You're right he definitely acknowledged Schooly, Idk how long it took him to do that lol, but he did.
I'm guessing ice feels a way because 99 problems is basically ONLY a*sociated with Jay, and considering the song was a hit he feels he deserves a few more props. I can't be mad at that.

Bingo.
That's always been a downside in letting people sample your work because if they do a better job your original essentially becomes Lost in time as a footnote....
Also time stops for no one so people are born everyday will hear da newer version da label is putting money to pump over da OG.... I'll give you an example EPMD first album strictly business is
never spoken of in this era but if you play it front to back it's got so much original samples that rap acts from da '90s used and are more a*sociated with...
Let da Funk flow been out a decade+ before Nas sampled it for Nastrdamus but ill always a*sociate da track with esco because its where i heard it first....
