There were crazily priced and more affordable choices then and now, basically.

Phillipps CD-i and the 3DO both debuted at $700. Still never seen either in person (except behind the counter at stores), though you'd read game reviews.

I get what you’re saying but let’s not pretend like every game was bug free back then. There’s plenty of games that had game breaking bugs and that just how they were. While I think being some devs rely on being able to patch games a little too much it’s also a good thing because bad games can eventually become good through patches and updates.

I don’t really buy games that require me to buy micro transactions and as far as dlc, I don’t really mind when it’s something really good like the Witcher, horizon, left behind and even ghost of Tsushima had good dlc. I don’t really think that gaming was so much better back then. I think we were just kids and didn’t have any real world problems and we’re just nostalgic for that feeling. Just my opinion though.
