Composition and color grade is nice though. If you are going to shoot film, get a medium format camera otherwise you are wasting film shooting 35mm aint no money in that and the images aint going to hit like you think they will. Medium format for portraits or look like a sucker comparing 50-100megapixel cameras vs 35 mm. Word to he wise. Also dont buy backdrops... LMAO rent them find a studio that has them charge the client to rent them and let THEM pay for it.

I have several 35mm and medium format cameras. I collect them, it’s moreso a hobby than a cash grab. I use my Contax more than often, but it’s in the shop at the moment. But Yeah most of the time when I shoot, or anything that pertains to that I go for a certain aesthetic more than the crispy look of a edited product. Like for example, that testing shoot we had wasn’t for her exactly, it was testing for a branding I recently had in mind. What I’m more into. Last edited by baddie; 12-22-2022 at 06:27 PM..

The VL series is the best bang for your buck light-wise, but nowadays there are a lot of HQ lower-priced options. Like the Apurture Amaran series, The Godox Litemons Series, and the Nanlite FS Series... even the SmallRig lights are decent for the price. Can't speak to the quality of them though, haven't used them myself, just saw them in action from a reference monitor. If you're going to hop into a newer series of lights, I would recommend the Nanlite FS series. Factoring in build quality, app control, customer service, and light performance they're the top of the 3. IMO Last edited by patt24; 12-23-2022 at 07:35 AM..

One of the most common issues I see in video production quality is the audio. For a lot of these podcasts, it almost seems like an afterthought. And in most cases, it doesn't appear to be the equipment, but rather the know-how. Hearing audio clipping, not having the proper dynamics or eq for each voice, they just be running the mics flat and dime them mf's.

Playing with angles is fine. Just didnt make much sense to shoot at that aperture in studio unless like you said you were experimenting which is fine have a blast finding your style/ aesthetic, in my era that style was called sh*tting $5 point and shoot cameras, if you are shooting with a contax though that point and shoot is fire. Drop your ig in my dm I'd like to see what you make with it later...

Seems like this is a thread for camera stuff but I was looking at buying one of those Phillips hue lightbar things for the back of my monitor but can't bring myself to spend $150 on it. Anyone have any brands that are similar?

I just want one of those crispy podcast setups everybody be having on YouTube
They be having those shure mics, but I get so lost on what that plugs into. Then the cameras be dope, They say it's just a camera, but then their is the lens that REALLY scares me off. I just need to take my time and read. |

just get yourself this camera it comes with a built-in lens, although the lens is a little wide, if you shoot 4k you can crop into it for a 1080 delivery which is plenty for youtube. Dont place it closer, just crop in. The closer you place it the more distorted your face becomes, it also might have a min focal distance. recorder for up to a 4 person podcast mics, as many as you need. obviously, you'll need cables and arms or stands to hold them. lights, not very powerful but in small to small-med size rooms it'll be enough free software that is more than enough for beginners or early stage shows Last edited by patt24; 01-13-2023 at 08:04 AM..

Had that Sony A7Sii my homie had the A7Rii they were nasty. 6 years ago. That new Sony FX I think it is ridiculous for the price. I used to just shop adorama and sh*t online and find sh*t used locally. You can make some nice content for a lot cheaper but them Sonys give you some nice options for the price if you use them.

If anyone is looking for an inexpensive, super small light these should start shipping out next week... They're great for the size and cost, i think its 299 for the 100w and 199 for the 60w but i already tossed their info sheet and forgot the pricing... it's slightly longer than my phone and about 2-3 phones thick (galaxy s23 ultra)... make sure you get at least the "COMBO" pack as it comes with a portable battery and a bowens mount adapter to mount whatever modifiers you already have... if you dont have any the "PRO" pack comes with a baby softbox ... tried it out in the woods last night, definitely strong enough for tight outdoor shoots as a key light.
Compared to an iPad air Still barely 2/3rd the size with the battery pack They also sent me the 60w version which is slightly bigger than a rubix cube but I prefer more power so I gave that away but it works great as well. Would be dope for anyone doing a podcast or just starting to do photography/videography |
