Let's Talk Equipment Everyone Should Possibly Invest in

I like when I see background glimpses of equipment on these shows. I know Joe's name rings in the podcast industry. But I'm more so interested in the background production.

YT shorts

What are the two umbrellas a*suming lighting but who makes them?

And just posting notable equipment and brands worth having as a a*set. Even if it's just you renting out equipment. Cameras, audio, lighting, mics, studio equipment, instruments.

Love both the Aputure 120D and light dome! Super underrated and pro level quality at a fraction of the cost.

Dude you're such a masochist cuck.

You get off on trolling BM. Probably jizzed 6 times last night off the BX ping pong. Now I see why you put the white guys on ignore.

Props for the topic. I’m investing in godox lights they’re not as expensive as profoto but is good too.

For prosumers those are at the top of the quality list, everything else falls below. I haven't been disappointed with my Godox's tho at all

Very decent setup from what I could see:

Lights - Think those are actually 600d pro's w/honeycombs (used for focusing lighting and lessing its spread)
Cams - Blackmagic's (didn't know they had flipout screens until now lol)
Tripods - Look like carbon Benro tripods w/motorized sliders on top. Not sure of the brand of those.

Am curious if they are recording audio externally are straight to camera, but I'm pretty sure with this setup its probably externally. He's got the bread to make sure they setup is very clean for our standards, but Joe's always been up on game when it came to media...dope tho. I like to see the BTS of sets all the time myself. I'm a Sony shooter, been shooting professionally for at least 12-13 years. Long time hobby before that

Audio and Video go hand in hand. They compliment one another.

by "umbrellas" im a*suming you mean the soft boxes... video is sh*t quality but i saw the aperture logo, looks like a Light Dome II with a grid. With open windows like that, those better be Apurture 600d/c/ or x, although the 600d's are heavy as fu*k and they have their cstands setup wrong, with no fu*king sandbags so I hope they're not 600s.. a 300 or 120d ain't doing sh*t in there with all that excess light, even with the shades at half. Unless they're using heavy ND, but if their Cstands are wrong, I doubt they're using ND. Camera/tripod setup I can't tell what that is, looks to be either a DSLR or Maybe a Pocket 6K.

You on the A series, FS or FX?

honestly, as a long time Apurture user, back to when they made on camera monitors only, Godox outperforms apurture in every category except for name recognition and app control (depending on the model, some have HORRIFIC fan noise levels). I'd choose nanlite over Apurture as well as far as light quality and output is concerned. Apurture customer service and product support sh*ts on everyone else's as well.

I used to rock 2 120ds, and 2 300d's for everything years ago... I gaffed someones short in late 2020 and he rented 4 Godox VL300s before hiring me ... ever since that day, I sold all my Apurture lights and went with Godox 2x VL150, 2x VL300... recently adding Godox M600bi & m600d, Godox Litemons 200bi, 4x Godox TL30's, SZ150R (RGB), FL150R and I'll probably preorder the MG1200bi after the holidays. The 600s allowed me to part with my ARRI lights, they became a hassle to bring on non-pro sets.

I think this is a good deal if you Tryna budget.

Oh and I got a adobe hook up that has been working great if you dm me. You only need premier after effects and media encoder if you just doing video. But photo shop is nice. Also of course audacity for easy sound leveling.

cameras cool for a basic in-studio podcast and maybe an in-your-room-style vlog video but nothing more than that. Take it outdoors or somewhere where there's a ton of detail and the footage will fall apart.

Spend the extra 150-200 and get the Sony ZV1 or the Canon M50 MII and you'll be able to use it in more scenarios and in more applications
