Ok this alleged report is all sorts of wild, but if the movie version of Tony Pro was anywhere close to the real life version of him... then wow ..

yeah, they def took some liberties with Tony Pro’s character but i don’t think there’s any chance his body was moved to NJ. Hoffa was probably k*lled at Carlo Licata’s house(in which Carlo himself died in 6 years to the day of Hoffas disappearance of two shotgun blasts to the chest that was ruled a “suicide”). Licata’s house was within ten miles of the Red Fox(where he disappeared) a couple mob owned funeral homes(one of which is where they cremated him) and a couple of mob owned dumps(one of which they put the ashes)..........

they underplayed the fu*k out of his ego in this movie.......

I love the movie, i’ve probably watched it 50 times already and it’s already behind Casino as my second favorite mob movie but this was almost a Hoffa fluff piece.........

Tony Pro wasn’t an abusive psychopath(not in public places at least) and Hoffa wasn’t a soft spoken ice cream sundae eater(idk he might’ve really liked sundaes........

and i found it more than weird that there was only a passing mention of Tony Jack Giaclone(the little written note on his character introduction was “respected and liked by all”, his brother Vito “Billy Jack” was almost certainly at the murder but they didn’t even mention him. Hoffa was picked up in his sons car from the Red Fox.......

Movie was alright. I can name 5 better mob movies (Casino, Goodfellas, Godfather 1 and 2, Donnie Brasco) and 5 better Scorcese movies (Taxi driver, Raging Bull, Casino, Goodfellas, King of Comedy).

30 minutes too long, de-aging didn't work (use a body double smh), DeNiro with his white walker eyes, bouncing from time period to another (again deaging didn't work)....

DeNiro slept though the first half of this movie, dunno if he wasn't inspired by the character or it just wasn't a fit for him. James Gandolfini would've k*lled a roll like this.

Pesci deserves oscar noms for this though. Pacino was alright.

PS fu*k hollywood for not putting prime Pacino, Deniro and Pesci in a movie together.

It's funny you mention Donnie Brasco, because I felt those vibes as well.

I agree that it was a bit too long, and that De Niro didn't really pick up steam until the 2nd half.

Pesci definitely made the movie for me. Pacino still plays Pacino too much, but I like what he brought to the table..

no question. it was six years to the day of Hoffa's disappearance.............

Licata was pretty well connected through blood(son of an LA boss) and marriage(he was Bill Toco's son in law) so its always been a complete mystery to me as to why they thought he was a loose end they needed to tie up...........Im sure theres somebody on here that has a better idea............that's actully another really good reason why its so unlikely that Sheerhan k*lled Hoffa, if they're going to k*ll somebody like Licata they'd def of k*lled Sheerhan.............

I think Chuckie O'Brien and Sheerhan unwittingly played parts in Hoffa's by picking him up and dropping him off at Licata's having no idea he was going to be k*lled...........

O'Brien might've known something cuz he was just as much Tony Giaclone's adopted son as he was Hoffa's but theres no way Sheerhan did...........

Ive had a while to think about it now and I think its funny as fu*k that I've heard so many people complain about this movie not being totally historically accurate but in the same breath praise Goodfellas cuz of its historical accuracy..........

despite the fact that the Goodfellas inaccuracies start with at the jump where he's introducing everybody and gets to Michael Franzese......who would have been like 14 at that time.............

and they don't stop there cuz the only factual sh*t in Goodfellas was was the sh*t about the airport robberies, the Pittsburgh sh*t and possibly his prison time but idk about that one...........

everything from who k*lled Tommy and him having a funeral(Tommy is still missing, declared dead but still not found...whatever) to Spider's very existence was a lie.............

there will never be a more close to real life mob movie than Casino...........

besides all the names being changed and the Spilotros(Santora's) being beaten in a basement and not a cornfield(they were buried alive in one tho) all that sh*t happened.........albeit on a much larger scale than the movie suggests............

some of the robberies The Hole In The Wall Gang pulled were fu*king ridiculous............

Donnie Brasco is real to life as far as what your day to day gangster does but joe pistone is full of fu*king sh*t and they changed countless sh*t in the movie for whatever reason..........

worst mob movie i ever forced myself to watch was the iceman and there were times I had to pause to yell at the tv.............the fu*king guy from fu*king friends was Chris Rosenburg and The Gemini Twins were made into a weird composite character played by the fu*king guy that played Artie on The Sopranos.........none of whom the iceman ever knew in real life and the movie is basically fiction..............

and theres k*ll The irishman.............

somehow danny green, a top echelon informant who took part in a fu*king bomb war is a Celtic hero who knows everything about everything..........

only things they got right was the fact that after Scalish there wasn't much to work with as far as boss material and they were pretty much bumbling idiots and Licivoli really did have to go all the way to NY to kiss Fat Tony's ring and was basically forced to embarrassingly ask for help.............

and ferrito didn't flip cuz he was showing wealth around town or whatever they said dude didn't get anything he was promised(which was fu*king retarded on Livavoli's part) and they then they had a sketch of him on the scene of danny green's death so he said fu*k it I'll just flip............

Probably the last time we see De Niro and Pesci together in a Scorsese flick. I thought they executed it very well even though you can clearly tell when the de-aging technology was used. Never read the book I Heard You Paint Houses so a lot of the material was new to me.

Pacino was fu*king amazing as Hoffa.

The film was good, a little long in the tooth but good.

3 and half hours?

An hour to 30 minutes could have easily been cut to make the film flow a little better.
