i liked jae hood, he definitely had a buzz out here when he first came out. but sh*t if i was the lox i wouldn't fu*k with him either after he made that video dragging the chain down the street.

on a side note does anybody remember one of jae hood's early freestyles where he was going in and kiss is in the background like "he's still in high school ya'll!" i can't remember if it was a green lantern freestyle or what but i wanna hear it again

Hood wasn’t as bad as y’all making him sound. He had a few good features with the LOX. He also wasn’t as good as some of y’all making him sound. At the end of the day he didn’t play his cards very well and that’s on him. Nobody else.

It's kinda weird that J-Hood didn't get a release date...

If Sheek can put out 3 albums on Koch, then J-Hood could.

Either someone spent the budget or J-Hood had a poor work ethic.

J-Hood didn't have to drag the chain though. He could have negotiated with The Lox and left on good terms without burning bridges like Currently did when he left Wayne. You didn't see Curren$y making diss records and exposing family business once he got kicked out the whip.

In J hood's "prime" he relegated Sheek louch to A&R status running D-block.... mixtape era was really Jada, Styles, and J Hood, with a dash of Sheek...

i wrote a longer version of what im about to say on here in some thread within the last year. for times sake ill just condense it below

i went back through all of my old mp3's from say 2000-2015 within the last 2 years. when i got to an old folder of dblock from 2001-2007 call it, i found it really striking how poorly most of jae hood's music sounded. i ended up deleting most of it. my main takeaway was that his 2001-02, maybe some 03 was the best sounding and sharpest. anything from him i had in there from 04-06 was complete garbage. he was totally going through the motions and just going with the "flood the streets" method and spraying the mixtapes with garbage freestyles. the other thing is he couldnt make a song to save his life. any of those old alleged "singles" or girl songs from back then that were intended for the album were terrible

so while at the time, i couldnt understand why his album never got a date or was released, now going back and listening so many years removed from that era its clear as day to me why he never came out. its disappointing, he came out so hot initially and then quickly became just another lukewarm mixtape artist from that era soon to be forgotten

all of that said, all of the freestyles people are posting in here were from that 01-03 era of his when he was k*lling it and im loving revisiting those in here

Hood was nice.. but he dropped the ball being disrespectful to his own crew.. he should've spoke to them before dragging that chain but I kinda feel his pain for feeling frustrated.. Tales from the Hood was coming up next for like 5 years..

At no time ever was jae hood k*lling sheek and damn sure not styles delusional n*gga
lil n*gga copied his whole style from them

that was sheeks lil guy he raised up
none of his bars were any better than the sh*t that all of them done already spit years before

anyway the n*gga is cleaning toilets at Wal Mart now go on and send him some loot to his cash app
since you concerned about his well being
Nah lyrically sheek is trash half his raps don't even rhyme bro

They really fu*ked over Jae hood career they should never tried 2 start a label until they blew, they wasn't big enough artist themselves to put nobody else on
