Gorilla Zoe - dropped 28 mixtapes in 28 days... (no one heard any of em)
NY in general - tryin to sound like young n*ggas/south n*ggas/chicago n*ggas/uk n*ggas etc - also is their only like 3 producers out there who do beats for fat joe/jadakiss/french? all their beats sound the same for the last 10 years, heavily quantized but still offbeat type sh*t
Famous Dex - too much drugs soon as he was gaining momentum
Lil B - overplayed his gimmick
Roscoe Dash - too many ppl jacked his sound before he could even really blow with it - to the point n*gga didn't even know what separated him from them n*ggas who stole his sound
Troy Ave - no originality, n*ggas was really tryin to rep for him cuz hes from ny or whatever but it got old quick
dave east - constant mids
g herbo - heard 1 song u've heard em all
blocboy jb - no more drake features
lil xan - he's billie eilish now
Roscoe admitted to ghost writing for people And it was down hill from there

Rich boy is a hip hop travesty honestly should have been big.

A blind man can see its some behind the scenes sh*t
Rich Boy fell off after his click got indicted. They was fu*king with a n*gga from BR that snitched on his whole click. Dude outta jail now.....but he got Rich Boy crew fu*ked up on some street sh*t and Rich Boy fell off after they got indicated.

Edit: Not sure if it was this indictment or the one before.

i remember a juelz interview where he talked about having hard drives of unreleased music (skull gang era so it'd all be 2007 and earlier sh*t) but nothin ever came of it, their was stories about max b/jim jones having hard drives of music too but who knows - back in 2007 a 120gb hd would've been a lot, 500gb/1tb is like the standard now

also boosie def shoulda stuck with mouese on the track

Facts...

Funk Flex shouldn't have to be getting NYC rappers to get off their a*ses to put out music.

Don Trip & Starlito

Don Trip had a Cee Lo feature on his 1st major track and was with Interscope

Starlito was down with Cash Money/Young Buck, but had a buzz in Memphis

They had bars out the South and good connects, but it seems like they got black balled for some reason

Trip never dropped a project with Interscope and Lito never caught the buzz he should have. Lito had beef with Young Buck, but that's still small compared to his buzz. They broke Kevin Gates

Trip n Lito cold, this track is old

Trip my favorite rapper out of Memphis and one of my favorite rappers period, he should definitely be bigger.

Big KRIT -

Prolly has more talent that the rappers we currently put in the top 3.
Because he produces most of his own music, his sound got a little predictable.
Being from Mississippi. And mostly talking about country sh*t and making "country rap tunes" Ala UGK
Wrong era, as an artist and with his sound, probably fit better some where in the early to mid 2000's.
Def Jam tried to make his first album too commercial when he was coming off dropping a mixtape that was getting play like an album.
Wasn't able to get a huge hit-radio play song.

Still has his core fan base and we won't let him fall off. But damn feels like he should be up there with Cole and Kendricks.

What k*lled kirk kobangz career?

He was a dope song maker and had the look. Just drake was out at same time. If it was no drake he atleast would of been bigger in the urban community.

What k*lled ace hood career?

Ace jumped out in front of the world at 19 on our television screens with a fast wicked flow that was unique. He wasn't garbage but the thing that k*lled his career was he never had a initial fan base. When we first saw him is when everyone first saw him. It wasn't like he had wrk on mixtapes years b4. So the lack of a fanbase k*lled his album saies. The man released 4 major record label albums smh.

For this thread you can mention whomever and give your idea of why their career didn't go well.

For this post, I'm going to choose Rich Boy. Rich Boy was very talented IMO and could have been a voice of the 'New South', but I think besides the obvious of his main producer Supa Villain passing away, he was just TOO similar to T.I. and might have possibly been blackballed. You gotta remember, when 'Throw Some D's' was getting play on the airwaves, T.I. was blowing up the charts with tracks from his 'King' album which if I'm not mistaken, is his most successful album to date. I think style-wise they were just too similar, and since T.I. was already established, of course Rich Boy had to go. It would've been nice for him to have a longer run to see where he could have went in this game.
Unpopular opinion: Rich’s album was damn near perfect on top 3 albums of that year. Album was amazing

It seemed like everyone was stealing Ace Hoods flow for a few years and that's what hurt him but hes doing well.

If your a artist you're always just one hit away. Nothing k*lls your career but you. R. Kelly got off trial released ignition and I believe and all was forgiven MJ released some of his best music after his trials. Both these guys were on trial for underage sh*t if that doesn't k*ll a career what will.
