And it’s primarily gone to giant Agrobiz farms, not the family run farms that they’re going to put in their ads.

Which understandably, larger farms are going to need more a*sistance...when they actually need it. but the fact remains that the policy has failed to protect the more vulnerable family farms.

This really has been a misstep that the administration hasn’t yet been hammered on, but I think is going to be a talking point attack on Trump during the campaign.

Every day since 2016 has convinced me that weíre in the middle of a paradigm shift. Politics, government, and America as a whole has shifted into a new era. Domestically we want more than two options, internationally the world wants to get the US off the watchtower.

I think Donald Trump is the growing pain thatís going to lead to a more diversified political landscape and weíre going to see fringe groups participate at higher rates. Much like weíre seeing with Bernie/warren being further left and Trump swooping in and cannibalizing the tea party. With Trump he took the moderates under his wing because they just didnít want Hilary but now I donít think they want Trump either.

The problem for dems is that on the left, the separation is driven by policy, on the right itís driven by morals and social attitudes. Itís harder to compromise on policy than it is moral/social beliefs (sadly) which is why the GOP was able to capitalize on the moderates. But I think Trump has finally reached a tipping point where a critical mass of right-moderates are saying ďenough, we donít need you, we can get somebody else who does the same policies but doesnít embarrass us every dayĒ

At least thatís the writing on the wall as I see it.

How come you don't hear republicans saying we should've just let the farms fail or file for bankruptcy? And the crazy thing is that Trump's bailout is far less than farmers would've made if Trump didn't start his cancerous trade war.

the amazing thing is they'll still vote for him

National manufacturing employment appears to have peaked, with the revival reversing sharply this year in four swing states that were instrumental to President Trumpís election in 2016.

From January to September, the states bordering the Great Lakes have lost more than 25,000 manufacturing jobs: Pennsylvania lost 8,100; Ohio lost 6,000; Michigan lost 6,500; and Wisconsin lost 4,700.

Effects from Trumpís trade battles have weighed on manufacturers, and now they are starting to spill over to small- and medium-size suppliers in the Rust Belt.

to do this trade war right it needed to be done on a few layers first before tariffs.

year 1
first you give states credits or funds for opening trade schools and tax incentives and breaks to adults going back to school or doing this in lieu of going to college.
at the end of the year you cut taxes on manufacturing to employ the new workers.

year 2
sign or strengthen new trade deals with allies based on a weaker dollar.

year 3
is when you do tariffs and start a trade war.
domestic production is ready to meet demands.
a weaker dollar means that others have less purchasing power

trump did the opposite in reverse

started a trade war with a strong dollar while domestic production coulnt fill demand.

backed out of and weakened trade agreements with allies

the tariffs ended up being a tax on domestic manufacturing

It is the biggest failure but it's more of the ends justifies the means. If Trump doesn't get re-elected this will be the biggest failure. If he gets re-elected and strikes a fair deal with china people will say it was worth it.
