RIP ZL1, Hellcat Redeye and Demon

The GOAT has returned. These cars are running mid to high 10s in hot Vegas and Florida heat on street tires. image


Crazy to think the GT500 is running with the C7 ZR1 and its 600lbs heavier

GT500 would body the Tesla. the Mustangs chassis is so good it can put down all 760whp without traction and stability control being enabled. The C7Z06 and ZR1 couldn't even do this.

That's a lot of power and performance, but you can only tap into about 60% of it on the streets unless you want tickets or you want to crash and die.

People will take them to the track, drag strip and of course you have your street racers who love the thrill of racing on public roads at night

I'm in a town filled with a variety of late-model Mustangs. I don't know why, but it seems like it's a prerequisite to replace your mufflers with an aftermarket one so it is louder, not faster, just louder.

exhaust is a must. gotta let everyone hear that thang. first mods for my cars are downpipe back exhaust, intake and tune str8 out of the gate.

Swap out the headunit, amp the interior speakers, throw in a sub and a mono amp and youre set. Also, properly made exhausts shouldnt be loud at cruise speeds.

I've installed after-market exhaust to a number of cars I've owned. The loudest and most irritating one was a VW Jetta. I replaced the catalytic converter with an aftermarket, free-flow catalytic converter, the cat-back system that replaced the muffler and center muffler with a singular Borla free-flow exhaust with no center muffler. Then, I replaced the OEM air filter with a K&N cone intake. I could hear both the intake and exhaust noise. Any drive longer than 5 minutes was insane. I actually put the regular air intake back in to help decrease sound. It was like the cams and lifters were right next to me. I had a pair of ear plugs to put in my ears while I drived. If I went for a drive in someone else's regular car, I felt like I was in a Rolls Royce with super thick glass and sound insulation.

My previous car was a Nissan Cube where I got a cat-back DC Sports stainless steel exhaust. This was almost like a eBay fart can, but with nice welds and chrome job. I ended up buying a sound reducing thing that where it helps to muffle the sound with stainless steel wool and a perforated metal tube/plate thing. That helped it go from fart can loud to low-frequency drone.
