most pros that have ball skills look better than they did in college if they are the best player on their pro team.

In college, they are the only good player for the most part, so the defense gives them zero space to operate. Zone defenses are entirely catered to them, or box and ones. In the NBA even the worst player can score and is better than most college teams best player, so defenses cant completely sell out.

Playing with 4 other competent players makes a world of difference.

LaMelo was in the pros when he played overseas

Secondly he looked just as good as he does now on the court. Only difference was his shot wasn't falling as consistently because he was getting used to living life in australia with no family around

Dude was averaging 17, 8, and 7 in Australia, but was shooting 25% from three. However if you take away the crazy three point shots he was attempting he was shooting around 47% from the field and still had weak body at the time.

Jordan won a chip, hit the game winner, people labeled Ben the next bron, zion was touted as the next coming of transcendent talent, and lamelo was touted as a high prospect. I didn't see any hype around Donovan.

I honestly never heard of him til his rookie year. (I’m a college bball casual)

Mitchell for sure is one. Dame is another one. Luka was touted as a potential great but we didn't see it on his club team so he qualifies as well. Kendrick Nunn and Jae'sean Tate are the latest that deserve to be on the honorable mention list.
