It’s all based on your salary. Like you’re supposed to have 3 months pay saved for rainy day, think the engagement ring(which normally comes in a set with the wedding band) is 3 months as well. Once you realize you want to marry chick, you spend the time saving which gives you that buffer between drop of the dime decision and an actual choice you want to make(would save a lot of n*ggas heartache lol). Then the wedding by traditional colony standards would be paid for by the wife’s father, in most other cultures it’s not even some really a big for event. Just a celebration with your community. But if you have the funds or the father has the funds or the wife has the funds, some people go brazy with it. Me and my wife didn’t. Honeymoon is just your first vacation expense, you’d save like you would for any other vacation.
