Why Can't Female Rappers Write Their Own Raps?

I just don't get it

We all human, what makes dudes better writers?

Majority of big female rappers done had help with their rhymes from Kim, foxy, nicki, cardi etc

Even the new ones such as city girls .

And they dudes that write these rhymes write them from a female perspective, they can't even think of writing about their daily life?

Many of them do. And some probably wrote for your favorite male rappers.

I'm pretty confident Lauryn Hill was writing for Clef.

And Remy was damn sure writing for Joe.

Dudes judging it makes dudes better writers. That's why women rappers and women comics for the most part don't relate to us. It's a familiarity and common culture thing.

They can and do but execs dont fu*k with people of color so they send them to do some bullsh*t. Mainstream rap dont scratch the surface of what our lives are really like. Record companies are determined to remove authenticity and all things positive from our music and imagery.

Rapsody and them them cats all write their own rhymes. The mainstream artists are trash.

I remember seeing this clip of Saweetie rapping for them n*ggas at hot97
She said she was “freestyling “

Then she had the nerve to say she got ptsd from Ebro saying her bars were mediocre lmfao

there are women who are currently writing for your favorite MALE rappers.

and in the past as well. and secondly, why when yall have this convo (which is really just a bash women fest) yall always conveniently forget the many MEN who do not write their own raps and have been exposed for it??

a freestyle can mean something written.

You're making his point, even though OP didn't get it across clearly, I think he is talking about today's modern day female rappers. The days of missy elliot, lil'kim, salt and pepper, foxy, eve, MC lyte, lauren hill, Lisa Left Eye, Queen Latifah, Da Brat, trina, Remy, etc. are very behind us...to be honest...other than Missy, Kim, and Lauren...we didn't give them the love they deserved to be honest

Trina?

She was saying some real sh*t on here. I respect it cuz these days, females don’t rap sh*t like this. And I’m sure a LOT of them could relate to it

“I used the strip club as a steppin stone/
Hit the stage, got paid... it wasn’t my second home”

“It’s disappointin that u fell off, well, not fell off/
I just can’t accept u not being well-off/
It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t tell all/ I even tried to call you.... but ya cell off”

“You and me were best friends/ we talked about abortions/ as little girls, hair braided on the same porches/ we promised eachother we would share the same losses/ ya baby daddy passed... we shared the same losses”

Trina started the badd bi*ch sh*t, and was one of the first female rappers who was lightskinned with a big a*s. But I wish she woulda evolved a little more.

It's already been said, but some of them do; it's easy to tell who is, too.

This new Meg/City Girls style music has the most cookie cutter, plug & play formula. It would be safe to a*sume most of the poppin female rappers at the top have ghostwritters, especially if they're on a major (which most are). It's a lick for the label if done right...

Sign a pretty face > give her a poppin, TikTok-friendly producer > have an experienced already established artist write for her > go viral > do numbers
