Memphis never took anything from Atlanta. The dopeboy/trap/robber style music was prevalent in N.O, Texas and Memphis when Atlanta was on the dungeon family wave. That whole TI/Jeezy/Gucci Era was birthed from the blueprint Cash Money/Three Six Mafia/UGK laid down.
Memphis never took anything from Atlanta is a lie...

Every souther power house influenced each other.

Like black youngsta booty isn't an atl strip club song.

Bruh, u not even from Memphis? You have no idea of what I'm talking about then. I experience sh*t all the time with the language barrier that you just can't understand. Everyone understands people from LA. Only the people from the south understand people from Memphis. ⅓ of people from LA understand what I'm saying.

Memphis always had a whole different vibe than other Southern cities. ATL & MIami was all on that booty shake music for a long a*s time. But when I first found out about Memphis sh*t it was Ball & G, Three Six, DJ Squeaky, Playa Fly & DJ Zirk. That sh*t was crazy different. I fux w/Memphis music in a real way.

True....

Thatís why Iím glad Trick blew up... he showed the street side of Miami outside of the bass music

I feel like Miami/Florida got they own style too. Most of Florida rappers ainít scared to rap on unorthodox type beats

I have no idea at all then my guy because i clearly ain't from Memphis or living your experience, i'll tell you what though just based off life experience i think it's normal that sometimes people don't understand others from the same country with different accents, some accents are just thiccer than others and some people just "sound" a bit more local than others for whatever social reason that may be but i ain't no sociologist so i wouldn't know, One thing for true though this train of thought that your showing me is the same thing that stopped east coast rap fans from fuccing with down south music and now look, sh*t even T.I and that n*gga is pretty well spoken, but fucc it we'll agree to disagree

Hold on now know your ATL history because around that dungeon family wave we also had ghetto mafia hitman Sammy samm hard boys CMP who was talking that robbing trap sh*t you was just unaware but we always viewed Memphis as our cousins

You could've added Cee Kay to this list from the Bluff but his stupid a*s just caught an attempted murder charge with that damn Casino shootout.

I saw that smh, shot a guard at the Saracen. Buddy was already dealing with the other murder charge too so itís not looking good for him.

Exactly! Memphis rappers never forget their heritage. The whole Mississippi delta rappers never forgot their blues roots to Ball and G to 3-6 to Gotti and the list goes on.

sh*t you can add Bankroll Freddie to this list of new rappers from the area too. Dude is dope!
Ed Dolo too!

Memphis Rap running sh*t for the last few years. No lie.

The only thing that lacks right now is that Ďmainstream soundí.

3 6 Mafia, 8ball MJG, Yo Gotti used to drop those kind of hits

Lil baby has the most industry support but hottest out? You’re delusional, keep it 100 the only reason atl rappers stuck around for as long as they did is because of the industry d*ck riding they did. Most of them rode drake and travis Scott coattails for years when they didn’t even do half the numbers they did

n*ggas like Kodak youngboy and pooh shiesty have their own sh*t going on and don’t d*ckride or come off as a subordinate to other n*ggas
