Point of copying a luxury vehicle and calling it a Corvette!?
Why not come up with something truly unique and classic?

Why are my brothren so quick to accept anything?

First of all that Ferrari is a front engine Ferrari, second of all Chevy has had mid engine corvette concepts since the 70s. Are you saying every mid engined car is just copying Ferrari and Lamborghini?.....

I keep trying to educate these mfers on Corvette history but they don't get it. By their logic, Ferrari is the first and only manufacturer to produce a mid engined sports car. Everything from this Corvette, to a 1984 MR2 is copying Ferrari

Most mid engined vehicles have similar shapes and proportions. The cars themselves are nothing alike though. Especially the engines. You gotta understand that Chevy has been toying around with the idea of a mid engined Corvette since the first model in 1953. Ford tried to buy Ferrari back in the 60s and Ferrari turned the offer down. Ford came back and whipped Ferrari's a*s four times in a row at LeMans in their own mid engined sports car between 1966 and 1969. Winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in 1966.

Then 50 years later in 2016 they whipped everybody's a*s again in the new Ford GT race car, getting 1st, 3rd, and 4th place.

So yes, Ferrari is known for making a lot of mid engined cars but they also make front mid engined cars, so by your logic they copied Corvette too.

That Ford GT look identical to a Ferrari!

You giving me some game, but at this point Ferrari is well known in the game, so for you to make a whip like that in 2019, everyone gonna feel like you copying.

Maybe not back in the day, in the 50's. And casual buyers wont know all of this history you speaking.

You're right, the average casual buyer won't know the difference.

But they are not identical aesthetically, I disagree with you there.

Current Ford GT

Ferrari 488 GTB

C8

Now, the 488 and the Vette do look similar due to the engine being located where it is now but it's not copying. The engine layout forces you to design the car a certain way. Regardless, the fact that it looks like a Ferrari is not a bad thing when you consider the price difference and lower cost of ownership over the years. Plus, this mfer is gonna be fast as sh*t. It's already just as fast as a 458 and it's only the "base" model.

my dad's friend (whom which i called "uncles") had a early 2000s light brown/champagne color corvette with a sunroof. when the sunroof was back and the windows were down, it felt same as a convertible.

i believe it was a stock corvette but that sh*t was the second or third fastest car i ever been a passenger in.

only faster cars were my homie had the top of the line early 2010s bmw 5-series and a had another friend who had a mid-2000s benz s65 AMG. both those sedans can fly.

so, yeah. this new 2020 corvette convertible looks crazy.
