If these labels dragging they feet, why isn't he making his lawyer get on that?

I just can't understand cats sittin around waiting on checks after winning cases. Where Is your legal team?

Sonny doesn't strike me as an aggressive dude. I think somebody like Southside would definitely have that sh*t taken care of after winning a judgement

A vindictive label with unlimited resources can drag a suit in court for decades fam. Them motherfu*kas will file every damn motion that exists just to spite you and bleed your pockets dry before you even get to the civil suit.

I learned a LONG time ago if you're gonna do beats try to stay away from mainstream/commercial cats(more so rappers)if you want upfront money(hell, you may not even get your back ends/royalties).

Seems stock/film/game/etc music is where it's at

808 was right there in the beginning of that sh*t, it just wasnít called 808 yet. Chris fresh and them was in my apartment doin it in 2010, then they was all at the house in lil 5 after that etc, that was about the time the 808 name came out, but most of it came out of BSM.
def peeped dat....i'm just saying they was all in dat same pot together especially metro...he stayed at bruh crib before he got on frfr and a lot of these producers that's hot now met these rappers and was taught how to mix, what vast sounds to use etc from him...he showed them that knowledge through trial and error and now that he need help...they aint really helping him because the game very political......

These dudes just donít realize that it IS a job being a musician, they just see the glamour and not the discipline. Thatís why many of these oversaturated musicians and styles fade like old clothes

Lol I showed some, SOME, of these folks omnisphere for the first time back in the day. I had that sh*t before anyone knew it. Was a day 1 cop on 1.0.

And yea, I’m not up on what’s goin on these days, I got up outta the whole sh*t with a lot of folks in the scene after some stuff that happened in ‘12. Still fu*ked with some, but not like I did.

Game is shady, best of luck to him

Make sure your contracts straight when you sign that sh*t smh

yea, he explained that sh*t in the vid, he signed a half a*s deal, he just wanted to live the life and have fun and be famous, not knowing the long term of being fu*ked over in the process taking half of his money and not paying him. Then competing with other producers, you can lose your mind real easy in this indusry sh*t, all smoke and mirrors..nobody is getting paid like that anymore

This what Happen when you selling beats for a zip of loud. And I mean not having business in order thinking the social celebrity will equal success long term for a producer who has no rights to the music

That whole era got phased out forgetting they were the foundation.

I didnít want or need help, I was done with people for a completely different reason. I was and am a nobody who knew folks and engineered, no hard feelings for me, donít get that twisted.

Iím just saying folks were young and the game was moving real fast back then, and it does not seem like he kept up. The game is also very shady, these people werenít his real friends Iím sure.

Best of luck to him getting it all worked out.

master your craft but master the business as well..most people work for other people...which means most of us aren't paid our worth...you never get paid your worth until you master the business..its the only way to get paid your worth in life no matter the job career or love...if you don't master the business then you get paid what you can negotiate

Loss of a friend who helped get me in some doors, didn’t want to be around it. Nobody did me wrong or nothing.

Still make beats, make money here and there, do it for me now.

He could've stayed independent and sold beats and probably have more money than what he's currently trying to collect.

Sonny my guy, but bruh signed them contracts. The issue with early 2000s was the mixtape wave being published on the net. n*ggas had no way to monetize, so folks began signing to labels. Then a few years later, tunecore and districtkid appeared. It’s the same way for some early indie rappers. Folks signed too quick, without reading the print. It sucks, because I know the feeling of being so hungry and seeing your sh*t pop off you produced and others eating, while you’re on that $5 foot long back then. To be honest you need to be rapper as well to be a producer so you can eat consistently vs waiting for that semi annual Royalty check

Sites like Rocbattle, soundclick and sh*t. fu*ked a lot of heads up, when they lost traction and labels swooped in with “production deals”. My neighbor produced USAs “Covert Affairs” music. He’s still getting royalties. He paid off his home off that and Airbnb rental investment near Cowboy stadium. He’s only sold 2 rap instrumentals to a documentary film
