Tough mudder/Spartan

Considering doing a tough mudder next month in London . Just for the fcuk of it, looks fun and challenging.. Thing is, I'm fairly fit. Do weighted calisthenics 5 times a week a bit of skipping. Atm 14% bodyfat but I don't run at all. It's either 8 or 10 miles in length.

How fit do you need to be able to take part in these things?

Also, any of you brahs completed in any of these or Spartan races? image

I'd be doing it solo, so not fussed on my time etc

Was going to do one and ended up bailing out at the last moment.

A while later there was a report a bunch of the people who entered got sick

There a bunch of similar reports, and a bunch of people who don't get sick and do it, but I'll pass

I do about 5/6 Spartans a year. They can be pretty challenging depending on the terrain of the location you choose. That said, I know nothing about London.

If you exercise often, you'll do fine on the obstacles. Being a non-runner will definitely work against you quite a bit and k*ll your time but you'll finish no problem so long as you don't cramp up. It's tough to not cramp up if you don't run often because 8-10 miles isn't a walk in the park at all.

I do know people who've completed them without issue that don't workout/run regularly at all so keep that in mind also. I think you'll do fine.

Endurance and being physically fit are two different things. But, you can try jogging a couple times a week to build your endurance before the event takes place.
