Dream and it's really not close.
Olajuwon was as close to a perfect basketball player as anyone could as for.

I don't think I've ever saw him play before honestly. I was a kid so I probably don't remember. My earliest bball memory starts in the Lakers first year of their 3 peat.

Never seen the Dream but seen prime Shaq FOH

That’s not that unreasonable. They were drafted 10 years apart and their primes were at least 7 years apart

The way Embiid can chase down guards and block their shots in the open court, is Eerily similar to Hakeem. Let alone the footwork and lots of other sh*t. Still Hakeem but have to take into account Joel only started playing basketball later then most, and is still getting better yet

To this day I still say Hakeem is the second best player (my opinion) that I’ve seen. This man was just as dominant defensively as he was offensively. Some posted earlier that defense is just effort and isn’t predicated on skill, I disagree. It takes skill and timing to block shots and play the passing lanes at 7ft tall. Hakeem had every offensive move even a crossover! To this day players still come to him to get post and footwork lessons. I always thought he gets ranked to low when talking about the all time greats. He won his first ring with 0 hall of Famers and 0 all stars. Imagine the amount of rings if he played with the amount of talent some of the greats played with. Not only that imagine if he played with a young Clyde Drexler instead of the 34 year old version of glide.

What makes Embiid more skilled than Cousins and Jokic?
Fade aways euro steps more athletic, craftiness embiid is like a modern day Hakeem that should've played basketball once he came out the womb this is like his 8th year playing organized ball. Jokic underrated tho u combine jokic passing and court vision and health probably the best center ever baby Hakeem

That’s a tough question
The Admiral was my fav center in the golden years of centers but Hakeem has the edge as far as skill
But I’ve never seen wilt or kareem play so i cant pick them
To me a center has no business shooting 3’s i feel like that actually takes away from embids game

Olajuwon is the most skilled to me but Embiid possesses the three ball. Olajuwon had the handle and a jump shot and the impeccable footwork. He's the only big who had perimeter players going to him to learn footwork. As far as greatest ever I still believe if you replace Kareem with Olajuwon who won 2 titles back to back without another all star going through four 50+ win teams and won DPOY, MVP, and Finals MVP in the same season Lakers still win 5 titles off the strength that Hakeem never had the teammates that Kareem had and he was the ultimate 2 way player. Add in the fact that Jordan picked Hakeem to play with over any other center ever.

“If I had to pick a center (for an all time best team), I would take Olajuwon. That leaves out Shaq, Patrick Ewing. It leaves out Wilt Chamberlain. It leaves out a lot of people. And the reason i would take Olajuwon is very simple: He is so versatile because of what he can give you from that position. It’s not just scoring, not just his rebounding or not just his blocked shots. People don’t realize he was in the top seven in steals. He always made great decisions on the court. For all facets of the game, I had to give it to him.” - MJ

First video is an indepth breakdown of Hakeem's skillset

hakeem olajuwon the REAL greatest center of all time
