Jimmy has lost his damn mind. Larry and Magic saved the NBA. Larry had skills and heart to go along with his game. Don't disrespect Larry like that, Jimmy.

Very true and I love Bird but he would get fried by a a lot of lesser known small forwards today. Magic skills can be crossed over in any era. I know it sounds blasphemous
I used to think that until I watched dudes like ingles and the center for Denver play... dudes are not super athletes but get buckets and can pass bird would have done fine

Probably the most understated aspect of Larry's game.

Transformational players are players who changed the way the position is played. Dirk birthed the likes of:
KD
ALDRIDGE
K.LOVE
JOKIC
ETC.
7 FOOTERS WHO ARE ABLE TO SHOOT OUTSIDE THE ARC AND HAVE AN ELBOW GAME TOO.
That's my point. Dirk supposedly "birthed" him but name one thing Dirk did better than KD does currently besides a one legged fadeaway.

And don't tell me he's more transformational because he came first.

Jim Jackson is lucky to have a job
i will forever remember jim for dribbling the air out of the damn ball

he would walk it up the court then dribble at the arc until about 3 seconds on the shot clock. amazing player.

This doesnít even make sense. What is this suppose to be? Guys who changed the game the most? Transformed positions? Best players at positions? Either way this list is fraudulent

na.. Larry Bird put in work... how you going to say something like how he didn't command a room or whatever the fu*k he was talking about.

Larry Bird in all his interviews, and players that have been interviewed about him talked all about his trash talk and how he would take on anybody because he wanted it to be known he was a white dude in a black league and could play with the best.

Larry Bird can/did def walk into a room and demand that "aura" or whatever the fu*k Jim is talking about because he knew he wasn't getting it any other way.

I don't think position should matter. That leaves guys like KG and AI out. Westbrook, Kyrie, Chris Paul, Curry, and all these little guys taking over the league are AI's descendants. AI has a bigger basketball pedigree than most guys in the top 10 GOATs list. It should be impact only and birth of lineages when talking about transformation of the league.

Davis belongs in the KG lineage, as he plays defense and is his team's best offensive player. That's what KG was in Minny. KG was one of the first guys in his draft class to do that 5 position stuff.

He was good passer considering how ball dominant he was averaging 6 a*sists a game. But he also averaged almost 4 turnovers.

I never saw the bird hype. Even after watching old hardwood classics and highlights.

I donít think he was a transformational player at all. He was a great player for his era with an unorthodox style of play. He not even top 35 all time scores. At least the people we're comparing him to are on that list.

Jim Jackson? The same Jim Jackson that didn't realize he was just a corner 3 point shooter 2 years before he retired? Please.
He's Tim Thomas status.
Larry Bird definitely was transformationable or whatever he said. 6'10 with a mean jumper? Check his step back, Bird had guys lookin real dumb out their. Before Larry who was that tall with a money jumper?
Quick hands n more than likely got 8 9 boards a game.
This dude jj is hatin super hard cus he didn't pan out how he shoulda.

To replace Dirk?
So where's the rule that only one player per position could be transformational? The game transforms ALL THE TIME, and certain players are at the forefront of that.

Cousy, Wilt, Baylor, Pistol, Julius, Magic, Bird, Hakeem, Mike, Shaq, Iverson, Dirk, Nash, Bron, Durant, Steph..

In what world did all of those guys not significantly shift the course of the league? The way people play the game?

That's what transformational means..

Bruh if it wasn't for Bird, n*ggas woulda still been watching games on tape delay till the 90's

i will guarantee u the next generation will not who he is. He didn't win enough and was never a popular player. In Basketball u got to win for people to remember u

and dont take this as me saying Dirk was a bum cause he was a great player but i know people wont remember him

and nobody cares about a power forward or center who leads in 3pt shooting. i didn't even know that until u just told me

You have it all wrong my friend. We remember a lot of players that donít come from winning franchises. (Tmac, Vince carter, chuck etc...)

and you should care about big men who hit the 3. Look at todayís NBA, look how almost every team has a stretch 4/5 dirk started this era big man basketball.
