i know the feeling..dont wanna have too much hope lol. i have said that so many times.

just be thankful that your team didnt make it to the NFC championship game last year, then spend 90 million guaranteed "upgrading" the most important position on the field only to barely be hangin on to a wild card spot with zero chance of advancing in the first round.
Damn, Cousins ain't worth all that cash huh

nah. i wish i could feel like you and have some hope but nah. there is none.
we paying 90 million to a slightly above average qb. and the OC is wack.
last year i had hope like you were sayin. but you can only take so much

man if you guys start nailing the draft on defense...you gonna be a problem for years.
where's the weakness back there? corner? hows the pass rush?

Corners are solid, they aren’t the problem. Safeties and ILB are the issues. They have been horrible. Hopefully getting Berry back will help a little but eho knows. The man hasnt played a down of football since week 1 last year and hasnt practiced fully since August 12. Pass rush is good. Dee Ford is finally becoming the player we hoped he’d be I believe he leads the league in pressures, Chris Jones has had a breakout season with 10 sacks so far, Allan Bailey has been a surprise aswell. Justin Houston is good but will likely be cut after this season, especially since Dee Ford is in a contract year.

The issues and numbers on defense are inflated abit since the offense usually puts up a big lead which forces the opposing team to pass, but they are not what they have been for sure.

And that’s what’s so scary with the NFL, teams can have successful seasons and it looks like they’re building something special and you at least have a few years at a run. Then sometimes as early as the next season, everything goes to sh*t and it all feels like a waste.

With Reid, the Chiefs have always competed, and now with Mahomes the future seems bright as fu*k. They have 3 picks in like the first 60 I believe so I’m hoping they can get some key players to sure up the defense.

Biggest issue so far is the safety & Lb play. Pass rush has actually been stellar being in the top 5 in sacks and two players already with double digit sacks. Corners have been suprisingly ok. Which is good for them considering they were looked at as the biggest weakness coming into the season. They can get frustrating with costly holds here and there but they’ve played well.

The Lb and safeties have been why the defense has looked down right sad at times. Missed tackles and bad coverage over the top for the safeties. Inside LBs have been looking slow filling the running holes. And in pass coverage they let the rbs/te r*pe them. I’m hoping this gets fixed a little bit with Eric Berry coming back and them starting to play the rookie Dorian O’Daniel as the coverage backer.

Regardless, this has already been one of my favorite Chiefs seasons. I hope it ends with a bang

for sure man. thanks for the breakdown. nice to see ford turning up you can tell he was a great athlete for the position. and of course its in a contract year

yeah i noticed that about the real good teams having the "worst" pass defenses. teams usually bail on the run game when they are down by 2 scores in the first half.

im pullin for KC in the AFC just to see some new blood. Who would be your opponent if playoffs started today?
Chargers vs Chiefs would be hella entertaing in AFC championshp

yup to make a deep playoff run, usually the window is real small. and still everything has to go your way. i konw they are regainin form but just look at the eagles. they had a ton of injuries and starters out last year too obviously including their qb so they shouldnt be this much worse. football is wild.

a competitive quarterback in today's league means that you're gonna be in every game at least.
Berry one of my favorite players to watch breh. Love watchin safety play we got a good one too in Harrison Smith. People don't even realize everything they have to defend against in today's game. I'm a*sumin Berry is the captain too and makes the signals. thats gonna be huge for you guys.
good luck to you brehs. hopefully we meet in the superbowl

Chiefs are currently 1st seed so whoever would be the lowest seed from the wildcard round. I wouldn’t mind facing Chargers in the playoffs. I dont fear them tbh, they haven’t caused the Chiefs too much trouble for a couple of years and 1 week this season was no different. Up 31-12 at the beginning of the 4th quarter when they picked up some garbage time yds and points.
