Jan 20 - Official BX Donald Trump Time Capsule Jan.20.2017

This will be sort of a time line on the new president and his policies to see if he stands on what he said he would do. I don't expect him to follow through on "ALL" his policies as no president has.

BX feel free to add news (please provide a link to a credible source) relating to his policies throughout the years to come.

Jan.20.2019 which will be the halfway point into his first term and we can review what has played out policy wise.

visit this link Trumps Official website.

Here are a few things pulled DIRECTLY from his website.

On Immigration

1. Begin working on an impenetrable physical wall on the southern border, on day one. Mexico will pay for the wall.

2. End catch-and-release. Under a Trump administration, anyone who illegally crosses the border will be detained until they are removed out of our country.

3. Move criminal aliens out day one, in joint operations with local, state, and federal law enforcement. We will terminate the Obama administration’s deadly, non-enforcement policies that allow thousands of criminal aliens to freely roam our streets.

On HealthCare

1. Repeal and replace Obamacare with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

2. Work with Congress to create a patient-centered health care system that promotes choice, quality, and affordability.

3.Work with states to establish high-risk pools to ensure access to coverage for individuals who have not maintained continuous coverage.

On Tax Plan

1. Reduce taxes across-the-board, especially for working and middle-income Americans who will receive a massive tax reduction.

2. Ensure the rich will pay their fair share, but no one will pay so much that it destroys jobs or undermines our ability to compete.

3. Eliminate special interest loopholes, make our business tax rate more competitive to keep jobs in America, create new opportunities and revitalize our economy.

Three of his most controversial picks in his cabinet

It's been a week and here is a

Here are 10 orders he has signed so far: (I might have missed a few)

1. THE WALL
Multi-pronged orders on border security and immigration enforcement including: the authorization of a U.S.-Mexico border wall; the stripping of federal grant money to sanctuary cities (; hiring 5,000 more Border Patrol agents; ending “catch-and-release” policies for illegal immigrants; and reinstating local and state immigration enforcement partnerships.

2. PIPELINE
Two orders reviving the Keystone XL pipeline and Dakota Access piplines. He also signed three other related orders that would: expedite the environmental permitting process for infrastructure projects related to the pipelines; direct the Commerce Department to streamline the manufacturing permitting process; and give the Commerce Department 180 days to maximize the use of U.S. steel in the pipeline.

3. MEXICO CITY POLICY
An order to reinstate the so-called "Mexico City Policy" – a ban on federal funds to international groups that perform abortions or lobby to legalize or promote abortion.

The policy was instituted in 1984 by President Reagan, but has gone into and out of effect depending on the party in power in the White House.

4. TPP WITHDRAWAL
He signed a notice that the U.S. will begin withdrawing from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal. Trump called the order "a great thing for the American worker."

5. HIRING FREEZE ON GOVERNMENT WORKERS
An order imposing a hiring freeze for some federal government workers as a way to shrink the size of government. This excludes the military, as Trump noted at the signing.

6. OBAMA CARE
An order that directs federal agencies to ease the “regulatory burdens” of ObamaCare.

It orders agencies to “waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation of any provision or requirement” of ObamaCare that imposes a “fiscal burden on any State or a cost, fee, tax, penalty, or regulatory burden on individuals, families, healthcare providers, health insurers, patients, recipients of healthcare services, purchasers of health insurance, or makers of medical devices, products, or medications.”

7. MUSLIM BAN
Bans refugees and residents from seven Muslim nations. ( Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Libya, Somalia and Sudan.)

8. RESTRUCTURE
Restructure the National Security Council and the Homeland Security Council.

9.LOBBYIST BAN
Lengthen the ban on administration officials working as lobbyists.

10. ISIS
Improve efforts to defeat ISIS

America’s ambassador to the United Nations has said the US “absolutely” supports a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, directly contradicting comments made by Donald Trump just a day ago.

The US President told reporters after a meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu that his administration was no longer wedded to the creation of a Palestinian state.

In a departure from the Obama administration’s policies, the White House said Thursday that the Trump administration is likely to crack down on recreational marijuana use.

“I do think you’ll see greater enforcement,” said White House press secretary Sean Spicer. “The Department of Justice, I think, will be further looking into [the issue]. I believe they are going to continue to enforce the laws on the books with respect to recreational marijuana.”

He drew a distinction between marijuana use for medical purposes and compared recreational marijuana loosely with the opioid epidemic.

“When you see something like the opioid addiction crisis blossoming in so many states around this country, the last thing we should be doing is encouraging people,” Mr. Spicer said.

Advocates of recreational marijuana reacted quickly to his comments.
“If the administration is looking for ways to become less popular, cracking down on voter-approved marijuana laws would be a great way to do it,” said Tom Angell, chairman of Marijuana Majority.

The US military is contemplating a long-term presence in Iraq to stabilize the country after the anticipated defeat ISIS, America's top military officer said Thursday.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Joseph Dunford said that both the US and NATO have begun discussions with Iraq about the possibility.

"We have, as has NATO, begun a dialogue about a long term commitment to grow the capacity, maintain the capacity of Iraqi Security Forces, but no decisions have been made yet," Dunford told an audience at the Brookings Institution in Washington, his first time fielding questions since the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

"Iraq has begun to speak, and you've heard Prime Minister (Haider) Abadi speak, about the international community continuing to support defense capacity building," he added.

A NATO official told CNN Friday that, at Abadi's request, the alliance had already begun training Iraqi troops this month and that NATO's presence there "has no fixed end date."

President Donald Trump to issue an executive order on historically black colleges and universities as soon as today that puts his administration’s stamp on an order that has been tweaked and signed by every president since Jimmy Carter.

The order is expected to move an initiative to a*sist HBCUs from the Education Department into the White House — a change that could help bolster Trump’s relationship with the schools.

Trump said in his weekly address over the weekend that he wants to “honor and promote the achievements” of HBCUs: “They are not given the credit that they deserve, and they are going to start getting that credit.” On the campaign trail, Trump promised to “ensure funding” for historically black schools in his “New Deal for Black America,” part of his campaign’s outreach to minorities. Omarosa Manigault, the “Apprentice” star-turned-White-House-aide, has spearheaded the drafting of the executive order, which is expected to be issued by the end of February — Black History Month.

Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to attend a “listening session” with leaders of historically black colleges and universities this afternoon at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

HBCU leaders have asked the Trump administration to include an aspirational funding goal. They want HBCUs to be awarded 5 percent of total federal grant, internship and cooperative agreement funding and 10 percent of all federal contract funding to colleges and universities. They say that doing so would nearly double federal support to the HBCU sector. And they’ve also asked to move the White House HBCU Initiative, which dates to 1981, to the White House, arguing that pulling it from the Education Department would provide the schools more direct access to the president.

Meeting HBCU leaders’ requests would also allow Trump to one-up former President Barack Obama, who was tremendously popular among black voters but had a rocky relationship with historically black colleges and universities. Johnny Taylor, Jr., president and CEO of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, which represents 47 public and publicly funded HBCUs, told POLITICO earlier this month that he asked the Obama administration to make the same two additions to the executive order and “it was never responded to.”

The first executive order aimed at aiding historically black colleges, signed by President Carter in 1980, established a federal program to “overcome the effects of discriminatory treatment and to strengthen and expand” the schools. President Ronald Reagan followed that a year later by establishing the White House Initiative on HBCUs. In 1989, President George H.W. Bush added a presidential advisory board, and in 1993, President Bill Clinton created a requirement for a senior level executive in each agency to have oversight in implementing the order. He also required the Office of Management and Budget to be involved in monitoring its implementation.

President George W. Bush later gave the White House initiative a bump, moving it from the Education Department’s Office of Postsecondary Education to the office of the secretary.
