Least effective how? From what I saw he's okay and no worse than Manny Lawson's a.ss. The only knock I have seen or heard mentioned with Haralson is he is a knucklehead at times and gets too many penalties. But purely based on talent he has the tools and should be better this season.
Manny Lawson isn't a bad player. He is a good cover linebacker and is good at playing the run. He is going to play strong side LB for the Bengals now which is perfect for him. I think he will have a solid year but what he brings to the table isn't something that we need on our team. We need pass rushers and that is an area where he was lacking.
All the players that we let go have been replaced and most of them were upgrades. NT is the only position where its either a downgrade or a push. Franklin was taken out the game a lot during 3rd and long situations but most 3-4 NT are.
I think our defense will be fine and our offense should be better.
