why are you saying us, like you were there on the field playing?
no its not us..
its a group of highly payed athletes that you have nothing to do with besides putting money in their pocket.....
C'mon now Ramazed, you are one of those people?
90 percent of sports fans refer to their cities team as "our" team.
No its not us physically out there playing, but its a "group of highly paid athlete's" that represent our city. And yes, them winning does benefit US as individuals personally. If the Steelers make the playoffs and get an extra home game in our city, thats a s**tload of people that will be down at that stadium and people from out of town staying in our hotel rooms paying tax dollars that benefit us as individuals in the long run.
I'm a Lebron stan, but never when he has played for Cleveland or Miami would I ever refer to that team as "us." But when it comes to Penguins/Pirates/Pitt/Steelers/etc, I definitely refer to those teams as "us' because they represent the city I know and love, and have lived in my entire life. When in the Miami Heat gameday threads if I am talking to a Miami Heat fan thats from Miami I say "You guys" when referencing the team. I don't say "Your team." Because that team represents that city, and that team having success is financially beneficial to that city.
