This is moreso a campaign for Biden or Bernie’s VP than it is for POTUS

Pete Buttigieg 2020

I like Buttigieg, I like a lot of the candidates this go round, but I can't shake the feeling that I have to vote based on practicality instead of ideals.

I hope it's Biden, and I could go with any of the candidates as VP tbh.

Biden is the worst choice, other than maybe Kamala.

But he did.

And I know the moves he made there were good and he almost won it, but the American peoples minds dont work like that.

It's all about what have you done for me lately, what was your last hit, and so on....Andre 3000 once said you're only as funky as your last cut...

And to the average American...you know the majority that constantly votes against their own interests and such? Betos 'last cut' was an L.

Beto also struggles with getting caucasians(ESPECIALLY WOMEN) or people over the age of 45 to like him. No way hes gonna flip those same red districts Obama did if he A) cant get caucasian women to vote for him or B) cant get 45+ year old professionals, retirees, and elderly to vote for him. Check these exit polls for example:

Not saying I agree with it, but that's the way the fickle mob thinks

I still dont even know who I'm leaning towards, but I do agree with @ that Kamala and Biden are the 2 worst Democrat choices at the moment.

Edited to say: Even though they get fu*ked over by voting republican....caucasian women love voting against their own interest in red states. I dunno why, but it's TRUE. These same women loved Cruz, love Trump, and damn near sent a pedo to office with Roy Moore. And judging by his performance in Texas they hate the sh*t out of him

Young folks love him tho

Biden is only considered a contender right now because he's got one of the most recognizable names and people are nostalgic for the Obama years, but there are a lot of more informed voters who don't want Biden. He's just another old D.C. politician; people want new ideas and new policies.

No way, Biden is not going to excite anyone other than some old Democrats. Biden won't even come close in the primary. Remember you heard it here first.

Biden can win the EC the more extreme candidates can win LA and NYC sure...but that's not what they need.

Wisconsin, Michigan, PA, and Ohio those are the targets. Sanders is the only far left candidate that can win those states.

It's Texas, and that's why I erased the rest of your post.

The reason I even made the "in before" post is because people (you, as an example) will undoubtedly act as if Texas is some metric for national appeal. It isn't, and it hasn't been since the 70's. Both Clinton & Obama became president without winning Texas. The next democratic president won't win TX either. Probably the next after him/her too. The "he lost, so he lost our interest" claim would work if Bernie wasn't the current front-runner.

Then the people are going to get themselves another 4 years of Trump. You don't play/experiment with easily-skewed ideas when the singular goal should be to unseat an idiot.

No, we'd get 4 more years of trump if Biden is the Democratic candidate; he doesn't bring anything new to the table. The whole reason trump is our president is because people were tired of the same old bullsh*t in Washington and the people behind trump were smart enough to trick people into believing trump is some kind of outsider who was free of corruption and wasn't gonna get in bed with a bunch of lobbyists.

We'll get four more years of Trump if the Democratic candidate is ANOTHER neoliberal, people don't want that, and part of the reason Trump won is because he ran a faux populist campaign.

People in middle America/rust belt are more open to Bernie style policies than the media wants you to believe.

For sure, even though Bernie is too liberal for me, I would still vote for him. I wouldn't be too excited to vote for Biden.
