Greatest illustration of the position you play within a deal
This been my sh*t for the longest, one of the few movies that I still have the DVD of. Slick how the title and lesson came out in the end. How many knew what the title meant until then? How many realized he never had a name for his character Til the credits came up?

I was geeked when I came home and saw it on Netflix, done watched it many times and watched again that night.

Layer Cake

You get out in the world, you take more sh*t. You climb a little higher, you take less sh*t. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what sh*t even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake son.

Yep. Popped up on Netflix and watched it.

Layercake solid a*s movie, got some real a*s quotes throughout. Not the best of anything tho.

It's not better than Leon The Professional. It's not better than No Country for Old Men. Not better than Carlito's Way. Not better than Goodfellas or City of God.

Damn sure isn't better than A Clockwork Orange..

Old Paul Newman/ Robert Redford flick the Sting is solid a*s film.

^^^ this is a Sidney Lumet film, if u like this be sure to check out --- murder on the Orient Express. too.

I fu*k with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid with Paul Newman and Robert redford.

Midnight Run

Mean Streets

O Brother Where art Thou

Bullitt

To me the most underrated Crime move is FARGO (1996)

2 more serious underrated gems (dont sleep on ROBERT ALTMAN) are;

The Long Goodbye
The Player (I am convinced this is actually the best Tim Robbins movie...) This sh*t is a straight 10/10 in my book

Edit -- Dont even get me started with the old Noir films, as far as BX is concerned the actual GOAT crime move --- The Maltese Falcon, Is stupid underrated...
u really feel a clockwork orange is a good movie?

Layer Cake is dope. Can't lie.

Casino, Rock N Rolla and The Departed are the goats though.

Honorable mentions: Boyz N the Hood and Heat.

I love once upon a time in america
Low key classic
I liked that movie as a kid but I saw it again last year - it's actually not very good.

Also, Rock 'n Rolla > Layer Cake.

bruh the 3 best sets of eyes, in the history of film, for framing shots are;

Stanley Kubrick
Alfred Hitchcock
Orson Welles

and they all got great crime films under their belts..If u dont like a clockwork orange I'm sure you'd like; A k*lling(1956) better, Tarantino borrowed HEAVILY from that sh*t for Reservior Dogs... heavily...

if u look closely at aspects of A Clockwork Orange (or any Kubrick film...) u can see it was put together with master craftsmanship.. for example the soundtrack is crazy..

The big opening scene, which got crazy amounts of crime, they beat a homelessman, get into a gang f*ght speed off at 150mph break and enter, tie up victims, r*pe an old woman while Alex is on tune singin 'singin in the rain'...

I'm sure people got issues with the dialogue, it helps if u see it a few times, a lot of old stuff is like that..

There is way more gravity to the subject matter of a clockwork orange than ur avg crime film tho, this explores 2 extreme sides of the coin, the way he's punished for his crimes is fu*kin wild too.
