This shyt crushes the anime version, and it suprised the fuk out of me. image

image

The world building is immaculate image

The action is amazing image

And the story is almost identical and even enhanced better than the anime (not the manga tho)

All in all I've never seen this done before with an anime. And for those saying edge of tomorrow, there's no anime of that. And even then I'm willing to say this is better than that.

James Cameroon and Rodriguez, you did it guys, you made the first great Anime Live Action movie, congrats. image

just came back from it, movie is flames

the thing about alita, it actually makes you believe the world they're in is real, that's something edge of tomorrow wasn't completely successful with although it was adequate. So much random people feel real in this movie and the environment is lived-in. The world building is just wild. I want to see it again off the strength of that alone. Plus there is just something otherworldly about every scene. its just amazing.

plus this is really better than the anime, although I never thought the anime was that good or on the level of akira or ghost in the shell.

james cameron and robert rodriguez need to be handed the reigns to akira though off the strength of this movie

Peter Jackson is the true MVP.

Weta, his cgi studio out of New Zealand, is who did the effects.
In terms of cgi no one is touching them and that includes ILM.

Still think their best work is 'War of the Planet of the Apes', but I'd welcome a new gold standard. The dream sequence with Koba was especially bonkers CGI-wise.

I saw it in IMAX 3d. All showings in my area were in 3d. But don't worry, all the 3d is used perfectly and works well with the film and the colors are bright👌

Please support this film it will be a shame if the first great anime movie flops

Issa 7.

Solid film actually, surprisingly solid. I found myself invested in a love story which hasn’t been a thing in a while.

This series has potential it’ll be fine. James Cameron has done enough to get pull to allow a second.

The action is VERY good. Not the greatest but very well done. Will looks nuts in 4K.

I never heard of this manga/anime. That ain't saying much since Idk much about that. The trailer looked good tho, I like how they had the bulging cartoonish eyes on the character that's real original. Never seen that done before

It's a solid film. Seen it in Imax...the action, the CGI, everything was top notch except the plot. It felt like you started watching it in the middle of the movie...

Yeah, that's how the anime and comic is. The first 15 minutes are ripped directly from the source, so it may be abrupt for those who don't know. But I just loved it. You literally don't have to watch the anime anymore, that's how much better this movie is than that. Pulls together all the best parts of the first and second book of the comic and blends them in perfectly.

And where the movie ends, you can literally start reading book 2 of the comic and start where the movie left off. It's the perfect encapsulation of the artist work. James Cameroon did such excellent job. I just know the creator must be so happy with this. Best anime live action movie ever
