It’s hard for anybody in life to push that “good guy” image without being hated, especially as a black man. It makes people unnecessarily look inward to themselves about their thoughts, feelings, vices, priorities, etc. It’s the same way people feel uncomfortable in person around someone attractive. You start comparing yourself and making you wonder what that persons “flaw” is if it ain’t their looks.
I personally live the “good guy life”, but to keep people from ever knowing that I’ve made sure to spread all kinds of extremely negative lies about myself & my character and make sure people are around to hear it. I’ll even push an opinion that makes me look dumb for me to be “swayed” back to the proper opinion like I had to be taught something. So I have the perception of being “real” because I’m “brutally honest” about my life and how I’m not “perfect”. I done did all this bad stuff to people, but nobody knows who these people I fu*ked over are, all they can gather is “damn he’s good to me despite that”. Genius way to keep people off my back.
