It's very stable bruh. The custom skin they include is laggy but all you have to do is set it back to confluence. They do include addons most people will never use but so does fusion. For someone that's just looking for quick and simple, beast is the route to go.

How do you deal with buffering?

Before you plan on buying a firestick or using one, find a disposable usb drive to connect to your router to store all video cache and thumbnails over network. And modify the advanced xml file for buffering.

Skins on firestick makes it laggy and take up storage space. Also sideload a file manager so you can go in and manually delete some cache files when space get low from watching movies or tv shows.

If you dont have a usb or usb on router, you will routinely have to delete cache files every couple of days to free up storage space.

Edit: if you router brodcasts two frequencies(2.4 and 5ghz) then connect to the 5ghz since 2.4 tends to be a more crowded frequency. Issue with 5ghz is that it doesnt have a wider range as 2.4 so get somewhat close to the router unless you have repeaters

I wouldn't recommend any custom build over stock Kodi. My thread isn't about custom builds. This thread is about setting up Kodi in the most stable and most reliable way. You or anyone else can make your own thread if you want to recommend custom builds.

I don't have any issues with WiFi on my Fire TV Stick and you don't need to sideload a file manager anymore. You can download ES File Explorer straight from Amazon's Appstore.

Anyone know where can you get an Amazon Fire TV in Canada? I checked the amazon.ca website and they have them for sale but they're preloaded with Kodi already.

You say stock but you're recommending add-ons. Stock Kodi doesn't come with Genesis, iStream, etc. so that defeats your point. All custom builds do is add all add-ons at once instead of doing it one by one like you're recommending. That's literally the only difference. There's nothing more stable or reliable about adding each repo one by one.

I said I recommended stock Kodi, meaning the stock build, over custom builds fool. Custom builds are more than just add-ons, which is why they aren't (and never will be) as stable as stock Kodi. It's crazy that you thought custom builds are just Kodi with add-ons.

You're not a developer so I wouldn't expect you to know that. Regardless, make your own thread if you want to recommend custom builds cause I won't be doing that in my thread.

My post wasnt tailored for you. Alot of people experience issues with the kodi on the firestick. From Wifi issues to low storage space where the only option is to clear data.

I just want people to know what they are getting themselves into especially if they are a heavy kodi user
