We Have To Put Lil Wayne in The Top 5 Of Southern Rappers

Wayne is a southern pioneer. He’s been in the game since 95, was part of the Legendary Hot Boyz, has sold a ton of records, built Cash Money with Birdman and Slim.

Plus he’s got quotables classic verses classic tapes and influence.

With that said, Lil Wayne has to be a unanimous Top 5 southern rapper.

I agree...I was very lukewarm on the boy and Cash money and as a teen used to make fun of the bling bling sh*t...especially bars like "I got cake like errday my birthday' then repeated it like it was the illest simile ever

But then dude started maturing and completely transformed the mixtape game. At the time i felt it was oversaturation and that only half the sh*t was hot like that, but I eventually appreciated it for his work ethic. Carter 2 was his first project that I loved and made me a fan.

He also made me look outside of lyricism and helped shape my evolution of a golden era fan to be more accepting of different styles. Like even if I didn't fu*k with the deemphasis on lyrics, I started judging rappers less about my personal taste and now included judging how they well they were reaching their core fans.

He got a couple classics and heavy influence on the music and culture (even if not all positive)...Given his career, I can put him somewhere towards the end of my top 10

Andre says hi n*gga...n*gga said no one else compares...

and no I don't care about no solo albums...Andre's the better rapper easily and part of a top 5 group in hip hop history...was breaking barriers for the south when it was incredibly hard to do so with the east and west coast being at the forefront.

Maybe u including a bunch of other things outside of the music...

even Scarface, pimp C, and Pusha say hi...

Wayne is the most influential rapper out the south ever. Only people that think otherwise are biased (i.e. they dont like his music)

you're an idiot and a clear example of the problem with today's n*ggas...u don't read. How can it be lil wayne "hate" when I put him in my top 10...I'm sure u didn't even read my first post.

I didn't say they had better careers...just that they were better rappers. Learn to fu*king read, you're fulfilling the stereotype of southern n*ggas being dumb (which of course isn't true, but n*ggas like u don't help).

He's the best rapper from the south

So you have 5 other southern artist in your top 10 in front of wayne

Please tell me how pimp c is a better rapper than Lil Wayne

Please

I dont get how Andre a n*gga with no albums can be top 5 of anything that's disrespectful to n*ggas with solo bodies of work but yea aight

What u talking about? I have him in my top 10 of ALL TIME...including ahead of pimp c....and here's what you're missing. I said they were better rappers, that's not talking about ALL the factors that go into being a GOAT, like the sales, influence, overall career, etc...

All i meant was the rapping by itself...Andre is a more gifted lyricist, been had the sick flow and delivery and was k!lling everything...man, my meeting about to start, so can't elaborate on pimp but again just talking about the better technical rappers (i.e., lyrics, flow, delivery)...I'm off this...

If I have Wayne in my top 10 of all time, then obviously I think he's top 5 southern artist...top 3 actually. I also think J.Cole will go down as the best southern rapper ever, if he continues this pace...
