This is buying on margin. If, for whatever reason, markets fail - this car is going to goldman et al at your local bank. Net Net.
Buying on margin is borrowing funds from the broker. He’s putting the other 100k remaining cash he has in his bank account into most likely MM account so it just chills and is managed by a MM manager. I was definitely getting a higher return then 10% with mines but I was hugely invested in FAANG stocks which went almost parabolic these past few years.

To say a recession is close is saying your basically very uniformed. While job unemployment is ATL , inflation is no where to be found , market at all time high. A competent fed willing to cut rates if need be. Its not , at FOMC Powell and federal reserve already said USA is at least 10 years away from any recession. Granted that could be total bs which could be true. Although worst case a recession isn’t going to come out of no where if your smart with your money you can pull it out at any given moment. Plus his is probably managed by MMs which is a service they supply the customer with.

Regardless, the guy is spitting straight facts and there is always money to be made if homeboy I’m quoting is so certain of said recession I’d suggest you check out the stock symbol VXX it’s a fear gauge for the market that’s basically at The lowest point it’s been in over 4 years. If any type of recession were too hit you would make over 500% returns.

The first one is free.

$58k down, and you still finance for 72 months? fu*k that.

Especially in FL with how expensive it is to insure and the fact there’s a lot of fast cars down there.

I wouldn’t be able to stomach paying that for that and it will get walked by a mom in a Tesla on her way back from Publix.

car guys don't like to talk about it but tesla fckd the game up heavily when it comes to straight line 0-60 d*ck measuring that they all love to do.

@ tesla $100k gets you in a family car or minvan thats beating damn near everything off the line including $1m+ supercars.

Also the fact that the model s is silent and has basically looked the same from 2014 means that some kid could pay $30k for a used base model s, debadge it and the guy in the $230k sports car at the light has no idea if he's about to get smoked by a family sedan or not. spooky.

I used to feel this way until I drove a car with real paddles, yo that sh*t is a different world no human can shift as fast as these cars now. Stick is really outdated technology.
Yea I’m a stick shift purist but I’d be lying if I told y’all that sh*t is faster than paddle shift. New Ford Mustang gt with the 10 speed auto is fast as fu*k. No human can shift that fast.

Over here in UK. Got a mr2 spyder in red. Modded subtly.. Looks like a poor man's porsche.

Mid engine. 35 mpg. Cost £3000 to buy, reliable as fu*k.

Overpaying morgage /got investments.. I'll get a Porsche one day. When I do I'll buy it outright

Few more things to do to the car but parts are cheap as it's a cheap car.

DB one of my favorite cars. Unless I was a multimillionaire, I couldn't see myself putting over 20k downpayment.

I was just going to say this. These new cars with 10-speed automatic are very fast. I heard a few mechanics say that about the new fords. My next car will probably be the accord with 10-speed vtec and not the 2020 Si....unless they put out a 10speed automatic for that.

You better off leasing putting 58k down on something other than a house or fine art that grows in value is a loss. Then you still pay $1,600 monthly nah

The first one is free.

(1) borrowing from broker vs bank - irrelevant - still borrowing. Let’s not lose ourselves in semantics.

(2) I made no point regarding the likelihood of a recession - that is your straw man argument. I merely demonstrated the vulnerability of the vlogger’s downpayment/payment methodology and let the reader draw her own conclusion. It is somewhat telling that you jumped immediately to defending against a prospective recession/crash. Some say it’s coming whether you believe it or not - gee, I wonder the when the last time a republican president cut taxes, failed to monitor markets, and threatened then entered war? I wonder how the markets held up there.

These new automatic transmissions change gears by the millisecond. There’s no way a human could change gears as fast. It makes them quicker than cars of the past
Bruh, what person who knows anything about cars doesn’t know this? You telling me this like it’s supposed to open my eyes to the truth or something? It’s been like that for awhile. At least since the mid 90’s.

It’s not about getting to the next stoplight fastest. I actually enjoy driving a manual.
