I know PCs are more customizable and superior to Mac desktops

but Apple laptops last WAY longer.

This might be different now with todays generation of windows laptops but I know several people still using 2011-2013 MBPs with no flaws. Even extending the life of these machines by swapping for a SSD and doubling the ram (a $150 upgrade).

I couldn't imagine having a 2011-2013 HP or Dell as my daily use computer
Thinkpads last just as long (if not longer) and are much easier/cheaper to repair.

Cliff notes:
Guy belatedly realizes that out of warranty repairs on a Macbook are ridiculously expensive. Also that there are inherent design flaws in the hardware.

Likes Windows - 'smoother', 'more reliable' (than it used to be).

Prefers keyboard on the Thinkpad, complains about the inferior trackpad fails to mention the trackpoint...
Don't go by anything this dude says, he's a d*ck riding puppet. He praises the products that endorses him until the marketing money dry out then he sh*ts on it (check out what he said on his youtube about the Blackberry key 2 and then post don't buy it less than a month later). Fake and corny

So you rather Drive a Hyundai which is windows

Then a Lambo which is Apple

Tesla is Apple

Lambo is Windows

And I just bought a new 2014 MacBook Pro 15 inch. Greatest laptop upgrade for me after my 13 inch macbook pro I've had since 2011 which has been flawless.

Macs are the best and thats just fact

Was strongly considering buying a surface pro 6 since my macbook fu*ked up. Think Ima go with something cheaper though since Im on a student budget.

Incase I change my mind, what are the main things you like and dislike about it?
the surface 6 screen is highly reflective so even if youre looking at something youre still looking at your self. bad for your eyes

the kick stand is cool but doesnt work efficiently in a lap. same with the keyboard

everything works but be careful of hairline cracks

also i dj with it, anything power heavy gotta plug in the wimpy 40W charger that still allows the sh*t to move iffy at 40% artifacts audio and etc

New MacBooks are trash; I still have my late 2012 maxed out specs 13inch. Running like a dream. Just need to replace the battery as it only charges up to 97%.

I got a 2012 that runs beautifully. One day I had my messenger back open and swung it around to put it on my shoulder. Watched my damn MacBook fly across the parking lot like a freesbie. Still haven’t had any issues with the computer.

gonna be getting a ssd to swap out the hdd and also gonna add more ram, at 8gb right now.

love this laptop
putting an SSD into my 2011 Macbook pro is the best upgrade I've ever done. Gave it like 4 more years of life imo.

Gigabit and up internet lines have certain processor and memory requirements to hit the advertised speeds. Thought this was known and I didn’t have to explain that to you.

I went from an older 21” iMac and my MBA, both of which were decently fast machines but the Mini is 4.0Ghz and has 62GB of RAM...It can handle anything thrown at it was my point.

I can plug an older Mac into the ethernet cable and it won’t get the same internet speeds as the Mini. It’s just a fact.

This was right around last year if im not mistaken.(2017-2018ish)

Needless to say it bombed and prolly still sittin on shelves.

New Macbooks have faulty soundcard issues (crackling, distortion) they dont want to admit or honor repairs on even under warranty.

New Macs got sh*tty / glitchy trackpads to. A disturbing % on MacForums complain about this amongst other quality control issues.

* The Last Generation was of better build quality and i absolutely HATE APPLE products in general.

Also...ur 3% drainage was from 7 years of non-stop charging which is INCREDIBLE and i can tell u NEVER let it get under the 35-40% range. charge cycles are key to battery life. Most ppl overcharge honestly (leave it overnight) and fuk they sh*t up like dat. idk what nobody tell u ...dats da best way 2 fuk up a laptop. My advice: dont even replace the batt. it's just normal 'wear and tear' i would dare to let it max out@85% before i even swap but thats just me.

How much did the MacBook run you plair. I have an HP Spectre that works fine and is aluminum for the most part except the plastic parts around the screen and the hinges that are breaking down smh.

I have to keep tape around the left hinge so the plastic bezel doesn't separate from the screen when I open it.
the Pro was like $550 after tax. 8GB Ram, a 250GB SSD, all the other creature comforts as well.

That is what I done before I sold it. RAM and SSD made a huge difference. But the battery was bad started swelling. Couldn't find a good replacement that would last longer that 30-45 minutes unplugged.

Rule 1 in PC buying, don't buy cheap a*s low end Windows PC or laptop and expect it to last. They are cheap for a reason. This is why you usually compare a Macbook with it's competition like mid to high end laptops.

Just like how you compare an iPhone to high end flagship Android phones and not those cheapo $50 ones
