Been looking at

Problem is I have a 43" 4K, PS4 and Xbox I'm not going to need in a little while and know I could build a mame system or Raspberry Pi and do something close to this. I'd have to build a cabinet and buy the f*ght stick, but I think with time and patience I could do it.

One of my boys went to trade school and said all we need is the supplies (and probably weed and range time) he'd help me build it.

Been looking online and there are some great resources.

Another "lazier" option I was looking at was:

The one I priced was like $8k. My anniversary coming up and I might ask the wife to get this for our game room.

I'm putting the Tmolding on mine now. 40" wide (40" screen), 6'1" tall, have 2 joysticks and 16 LED buttons in now but I'm going 4 player with trackball in the middle. Hyperspin is taking forever to get all the media setup but I spent about $400 for the MDF boards, paint, misc. tools I didn't have, router bits I didn't have, and the joysticks/buttons.

The reason it costs so much when buying them online or whatever is because it's time consuming and the shipping procedure. Hell, the games are "free" up to PS2 so that doesn't even factor into the cost. I been working from home for years so I do sh*t between work and so far I'm on week 5 with my project with another 2 weeks to go.

I've looked at them forral.

I have access to all the games/hardware but building the cabinet would be the challenge for me

Good sh*t. After playing around with arcade stick customization, I realize it's not too difficult to be creative and DIY some of this sh*t.

I wanna make a portable stick with a track ball, scroll wheel and a light gun.

sh*t would be fire if I can think of a nice system to play Time Crisis 2, House of the Dead, etc. Then switch over to Golden Tee with the track ball.

If you have a skill saw or circular saw (both would be nice), a little hand sander, drill, screws, clamps, glue, and the wood, you're in there (and a extra TV laying around). You can get all that from Harbor Freight for like $125 (gotta get the wood from somewhere else though). Don't have a truck? Rent one from Home Depot for $19 to get the wood home because you'll need 8ft boards.

There's a dude I followed that made 3 - 2 hour videos on making a cabinet with minimum tools, which is what I just listed really. Find you some plans, youtube videos, and go from there. It is a challenge but it really has been fun. The damn youtube videos sounded like gibberish for the first day or so but it started to click real fast.

I still think the thing is awesome dont get me wrong..

But yea you could make most of this with a PC for alot cheaper..5k is alooot...but ur paying for the craft and for all the time putting the emulators/games and getting them to run right

And yea the gun is dope..I'm upset he passed on the recoil version tho

I'll start researching it. I have most those tools.

a bit extra.... every game presented isn't built to be played on a joystick.....

A PC, a big monitor, and a f*ghting stick will get you the same result with more flexibility and less cost

It's available on MAME. The simplest way, IMO, would be to just find a cheap
refurb computer desktop, then utilize Windows to emulate what you want.

Got it.

Just never seen Golden Tee on my list or roms.

I have a gaming PC with most consoles emulated up to ps2/gamecube.

And 2 old pcs that. Could use. I just got Saturn running and was playing Virual Cop

I personally hate arcade joysticks, I like dpad and analog sticks. However, that setup is sick, but I personally have a raspberry pi running a retropie Image from Arcade Punks.
