I was breaking in cars in Decatur everyday back then. TI was my favorite rapper. Trap Muzik his best album in my opinion. I still don't think he's more influential.

At 1 point t.i was everywhere on everybody song like wayne, jay z and other impactful artist
Of course because he was one of the best. But that don't mean he was influential. Who can you look at and say they are influenced by TI?

You can't. That's why he wants credit for the genre.

They don't call it trap musuc because TI. That's a fact people ignore.

The genre is because Gucci and Jeezy. Moreso Jeezy. It's not even spelled the same. Whole album not even about the trap.

You giving him credit based on the title of his album but say the first group to say trap in their music isn't trap music?
Exactly. Bro, TI is cool but Jeezy and Gucci are way more impactful

Thats where you got the game fu*ked up. Future has nowhere near as many classics as T.i. not to mention talent. fu*k outta here. T.i. got 14 albums and future got 10.

The music industry made it a genre because of ti album, after he explained the meaning of his album and the content they started putting every Atlanta rapper in that box just like they did with crunk

So icy wasn’t even a trap song and gucci was mostly talking about being a junkie
Jeezy wasn’t even considered a trap rapper when he was lil jay

n*gga you’re talking about right now he’s over 20 years in at this point. Jay Z is more relevant today for being a black billionaire than being a rapper, does that means he’s overrated also?

This is how I know something is clearly wrong. How the fu*k can a dude who literally does autotune mumble rap on every song, have a bigger impact than TI? Future could go tomorrow, and there's a million other and it's a bunch of other Future sounding dudes out there. Not because of impact, but because it's the most basic style of rap that's out now. So easy anyone could do it. That's why he was pissed when Designer was rapping.

Like I said you’re a new fan. DS2 is y’all n*ggas go to and there were plenty bullsh*t songs on there, he was hot at the time so n*ggas gassed it. His initial mixtape run sh*ts on his recent work because he showed more versatility and the content of his lyrics went far beyond what he does nowadays. I still fw a song here or there but he hasn’t had a solid project top to bottom since Beast Mode

Future is definitely more talented. Dude is writing for Beyonce for crying out loud. He completely created an original sound. Is TI more lyrical? No question at all, but Future crafts better music and is 10x more versatile. You forgetting that TI and Future around the same age too, but Future is still relevant and arguably still the biggest trap artist. That seals the deal.

How are they gonna be more impactful than the n*gga that opened the door for them? You had everybody from Ghetto Mafia, UGK, Ball&JG, No Limit, etc. trap rapping but Tip coined the phrase and took that sh*t mainstream. n*gga had Top Back playing in a fu*king Chevy commercial, that sh*t was unheard of because, no one thought you could crossover making that type of music but he did it

Purple Reign was better than Beast Mode. Tf you on. "New Future fan". DS2 came out almost a decade ago. Talking about "new fan". Congratulations, you listened to Future first, who cares? Tf.

Future's still hot, you out of touch fr.

If you mean real trap music then I honestly think it's a case of TI made it a hot line Future made it a hot song. TIs trap music is nothing like what trap music is known for in my opinion. Future has the trap music blueprint
I mean if we being honest Future doesn’t make trap music he’s talked about using much more than trapping. And yeah T.I.’s vision for trap music got lost once Jeezy and Gucci came in glamorizing it. Outside of Dope Boyz his trap sh*t came with the disclaimer of leaving the decision up to the listener because, he gave you the positives and negatives of the game.

Jay Z still relevant as rapper. TI is not in 0 way.

No one even checks Chief Keef's new music but everyone acknowledges his influence. I honestly don't hear anyone talking about TI being influential. TI was hot for his time and that's about it.

n*gga he just heated back up with his latest album High Off Life, Save Me, and Pluto X Baby Pluto came and went with little fanfare each project had a hot song or two on it but none of em hit and stayed in rotation like I never liked you. You would’ve been better off saying EVOL instead of Purple Reign

Im talking about after 101 Jeezy. That's when it started getting called trap music. The genre didn't exist until his run was over.

You giving TI credit for the word trap when he's in the middle of trap music history.

I made a mistake though. Andre 3000 was the first to put trap in music.

Wayne was hardly an established name in the early 2000s, hence him dropping all those mixtape to build his profile. He was still seen the kid from Hot Boys then, so youre right. T.I. wasnt on Waynes level; he was ahead of him.

You’re saying everyone but you’re probably referring to folks that came up once Tip’s run was over, they most likely know him for About The Money and that’s only because Thug was on there. I wouldn’t expect n*ggas that didn’t live through to give him his praise they saw Keef’s rise even though if we’re being honest all of that sh*t was inspired by Waka but that’s a whole other conversation
