I got my china box from amazon. It just has "android smart tv" on the top. It runs kodi good but i wanted something with more ram so i got the remix. The remix runs kodi great and it has the android playstore on it. I installed Mobdro as a backup when kodi is acting up.

Vlc was my goto app for tv cuz it had streams from ilive.to on there. Now I just use mobdro to watch stuff. I just wish it came with a remote but I just use my phone since it has bluetooth

Anyone use openelec? i just bought a box recently the exact same model as an android box i bought last year but openelec means the box boots straight to kodi and it is way smoother even with some of the heavier skins like madnox it doesnt buckle.

OpenELEC is suppose to be best way to run Kodi

It's good when it works. But since it's an OS and not just the Kodi app it's prone to more issues than a normal user will experience. I'm actually happy I no longer have to deal with it. Had it running on my Raspberry Pis.

I never use an android box for anything but kodi so the fact openelec boots straight to kodi in seconds is ideal plus as of now there hasnt been performance issues

You can have Kodi auto-start on Android. I just wouldn't want to neuter my device by only being able to run Kodi or have to troubleshoot the inevitable OS bugs.

I guess if you only use Kodi it's not bad.

Genesis been messing up for a minute now. Get that SALTS add on with a real debrid account and get the velocity add on. Haven't had any buffering issues on salts in about a month.

Genesis was fine for me addons like salts and the royal we gave me way more hardship with links not playing, Phoenix is pretty good too. If Genesis is on its deathbed i will have to snoop around for what addon is best for me now

I really didn't use salts without a real debrid account. Get that and salts is golden.
