Idk what part of saint louis he from where that was the case lmao. Nelly and Murph were a household name. Apple bottom for the girls, vokal for the dudes. Double headbands the bandaid. n*ggas weren't wearing forces like that til the song. The track with Tim McGraw nobody was doing that or the dilemma track. And tip drill will go down in history. Straight had him about to get canceled before the cancel culture even started lmao. Rather n*ggas wanna admit it or not he def did some trendsettive things. Going diamond etc ppls fav artist ain't do that.

The episode wasn't even about outfits. It was about different sounds of hip hop and the 50 cent episode was about mixtapes.

Nelly made it more popular. Doesn’t matter who was rockin it when. When that song came out, u bet n*ggas was buying TWO pairs. and it became an even more popular shoe.

Same way I’m sure “white T” made n*ggas buy MORE of them. Even tho n*ggas BEEN wearing white t-shirts.
Of course it made it MORE popular to ppl who WASNT wearing em from jump. Those ppl are called hypebeasts. Them n*ggas aint the reason nb started wearing air forces. Nelly had n*ggas rocking them shiny a*s shorts/pants tno

1. I'll be turning 36 this year. I'm very educated on the culture of music. I know your statement on age was probably directed at the other people you quoted but just had to point that out. You not talking to babies that's just running off at the mouth.

2. I'm not going to explain the impact of Memphis rap culture and the impact it had on music. You already have it in your head that you're not gonna accept it. Everybody that has been feature on that show was somebody who moved the needle in music and had an impact on the culture. They explained very clearly on the show how Memphis was able to do just that. Go back and watch it over if you can't remember.
Still young to me...
Skipped the whole Memphis part really could less about that sound....

I don't think he was dressing like an East Coast rapper he was dressing like a rapper doing that time period. The first rapper I saw wearing jersey's like that and I think it's more commonly accepted even in the rap industry as Big Boi from Outkast. As far as du-rags and air force ones I think that's just mostly an Up North thing that you can't point to one place of origin. When I visit St. Paul bakc in 1990 my cousins were rocking Northface bubbles and I got fam in Detroit and back in the 1970s and early 80's the street n*ggas were fatigued down with wallabies before hip hop was even mainstream and they used to ride in customized jeeps and Rovers.

To me Nelly was just on some St.Louis sh*t. They are country but it's still Up North and a major US city so they got some style.

Nah b, it was phife

Nelly was dressing like the typical East coast rapper with the jerseys, durags and forces that's why they cut him out
The band aid was the only thing original
everyone was dressing like that, wtf are you talking about?

What you described was a southern thing and west coast thing also (minus the forces)
