"SOUNDS dope cuz of his voice and delivery! But it’s simple as hell."

You can say the same for the lox

"And you a jackass like Johnny Knoxville (Ha Ha)
So I could just imagine how your pops feel (Damn)
And you ain't worth my shells (Nah)
So you should just imagine how the ox feel"

Yall wildin. Luda nice. Being able to put sh*t together and make sense is way better than just using big words to sound intelligent. I aint saying he one of the best but we gotta give Luda his respect. Yall making it seem like this nigg is bonecrusher or somebody like that

thought I was the only one who noticed how basic his verses are. No creativity. Just a simple blue print for every occasion.

How many times does he finish his verse with a word that rhymes with the hook?

the worst was when he was being pranked by wu tang - told him he was the frog lol. My man had "ribbit" adlibs.

Smh. only in the south.

NO! Iím not saying the n*gga was whack! Im not saying he didnít have hits etc!!! Iím saying his lyrics were very BASIC!!!! and if your gonna ďslapĒ make sure or argue anything but his lyrics being basic, give examples of lines that arenít

His delivery, flow, clarity and sound was 10/10

But was that confused with his lyrical ability? Lines like:

ďThatís why I pack a mac, thatíll crack a back
Cuz on my waist is more heat than the shack attackĒ.......

SOUNDS dope cuz of his voice and delivery! But itís simple as hell.

Or this

ďImma bout to take off so F what you heard
Cuz my side mirrors flap like a fu*k birdĒ

With lines like these, was Ludacris the LYRICIST that we proclaimed his as? Or was it just the sound, the loud in your face voice, the perfect delivery and the humor?

ONCE AGAIN, this is about his LYRICISM.
Agreed, actual lyrics were like high school level.

Wait, so I'm sensitive, yet u quoted my statement twice, with a whole bunch of bullsh*t, calling me an idiot and getting sh*t wrong like accusing me of saying 'it took a lot of time to think of?' I would say this mind boggling, but this is BX.

Deep rapper and being a lyricist are two different things, yet u used them interchangeably in your post. And I'm the one who's failing to grasp the concept of lyricism?

YOU may not have felt it...but me and plenty of others did...even though nas and jay had the better words written down, both their verses were about them and they were more sparring with each other, while Luda is the one who expressed with his words more of the meaning of the song and the hook...that's lyricism too n*gga... doing it for the 'front row and do it for the stands' for example may be simplistic to a simplistic mind...however those of us who dare to not be one-dimensional can see that he's talking about for the ballers who can afford it to the poorer fans who fill up the bleachers.

Also conveniently left out when he said van gogh flow, luda does it for the art...no one's saying he was the illest with entendres, but he's not 'extremely' simple either and does his share...if u don't think so, maybe cut your ears off...hopefully u got that line mr. Lyricist....(and you're not more of one than I am, btw).

Bruh. U made it about the artists I listen to. Why bring them into as if I said the n*ggas I listen to are better?

Iím going by his PEN. I said What the thread was and wasnít about. He chose SIMPLE rhymes, but was deemed the best LYRICIST in the south. His WORDS ON PAPER dont show that. Turn off the beat and read the lyrics. Thatís how I do n*ggas who say they are lyrical. Let me READ you lyrics.

And Iím willing to put $$$$$ up that im a better lyricist than you. I can write or record something.... and u can do the same, and we can let BX decide. I donít play about that bruh. Iím on ALWAYS for a n*gga sayin they rap better or test my rapping skills

So let me know!! Take this sh*t back to the early 2000s. Or if u record, we can do a track together

Newsflash:
Some sh*t doesnt age that well.

At the time, Ludacrisí bars were considered punchy and witty; in hindsight, maybe not so much.

Why the fu*k are you listening to early 00ís-mid aught pop rappers just to reach such a vapid conclusion: rapper from 20 years ago dont sound too good now.

Wow n*gga you really saw through the matrix with that long a*s post

You Picked Out Some Of His Worst Lines And Then Try To Build A Case He’s Not That Lyrical You Said You Want Examples That Let’s Me Know You Don’t Listen To His Music Like That

I have ALL his albums. I have THIS album with the fold out booklet of him in the hood and the big mouth on the album cover. I stopped buying his albums after RLD.

I said earlier. This ain’t about his SONGS. His songs are DOPE!!! Same way Nelly made dope songs, but his lyrics weren’t brilliant

Ok, same WOM album, how were his lyrics on “move bi*ch”??? Simple right???

“f*ghts out! Bouta punch ur lights out”

“Guard ur grill! Is something wrong we can’t stay still”

“Doin 100 on the highway, so if u do the speed limit get the fu*k outta my way”

DOPE SONG.....SIMPLE LYRICS.....

True, Poor Mans, Busta Rhymes/Redman/Methodman performance tier...

he got over by being visually creative via videos and an animated personality... He has his moments where he can come thru just as the 3 named above, and steal a track depending on the energy of the song i.e. "Made you Look rmx".

That being said, he not bad lyrically, just nothing noteworthy outside of an occasional clever punch here and there. Once again, the presence on tracks stood out to me, more than his actual bars in most cases...

Yea but what did I say tho?? I said Ludacris was called the BEST RAPPER OF THE SOUTHĒ

lox and jada are underrated. While everyone was saying luda was the best rapper alive, best in the south, lyrically better than Eminem etc

I know that goes for a lot of rappers with the delivery sh*t. But luda was put on a supreme pedestal for being a LYRICIST. Jada wasnít.

See what Iím sayin? See how that works?

Word, thatís my point. His delivery was just so perfect, thatís his lyrics didnt have to be mind blowing
He had above average lyricism. Those rhyme schemes and patterns aren't easy to come up with.

His punch lines are pretty decent too.

He's not Big Sean level.. But Big Sean basically stole his style and stepped it up a couple notches.

Luda is better than alot of people Migos, Drake, DaBaby, Roddy Ricch, Snoop..

He's technically a better rapper than Jeezy, Gucci, or Yo Gotti.. But they have greater range and depth, so I'd rank those three higher than Luda..

gon' be the longest night of life, right here man
Sunday never comin' up, you know? Yeah
Some people like to drink
Some people like to smoke
Some people overthink
Some people overdose
I'm just trying to get the nicest
Bottles on ices
Pull some all nighters (why?)
'Cause everybody got vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices
Everybody got vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices
Everybody got
Popped a couple bottles
I took a couple shots
I done fu*ked a couple models
I done fu*ked a couple thots
But from Seattle to Atlanta
From Philly to the bay
The only loyal bi*ch I know
Is loyal bi*ch named Tanqueray
She gets me right everytime
It ain't never no fussing or f*ghting
She said she'll always be mine
That's why I cuff her and wife her
Now that's through sickness and wealth
All the way 'til death do us part
Ever since I seen her on the shelf
I knew we'd always be together from the start
And she tell me when my cups half empty
I tell her when the bottles half full
And I can't get enough so don't tempt me
Sometimes she's chased with redbull
Sometimes I have to re-up
'Cause I want to be with her all the time
'Cause everyone's got vices
I just want to come clean 'bout mine
Some people like to drink
Some people like to smoke
Some people overthink
Some people overdose
I'm just trying to get the nicest
Bottles on ice
Pull some all nighters (why?)
'Cause everybody got vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices
Everybody got vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices
Yeah, everybody got
I rolled a couple fat ones
I passed around the dank
I smashed a couple bad ones
I smashed a couple skanks
But from Cali to Carolina
New York to Tijuana
Only Mary I know's
A faithful hoe named marijuana
I be draped in all designer
Won't catch me in nothing less
Than a couple thousand dollars
Success will just make 'em swallow
Good s*x will just make them holler
Good weed will just make it better
And ease the stress in my mind
As I continue to goin' get this cheddar
Better roll it, lick it and then light it
Puff puff, pass that thing 'round
Everyday, I gets excited
'Cause this here, came from the ground
And it was put, on the earth to smoke it
I can't think, of a better time
To light it up and ask if I wanna hit it
'Cause I know I can't decline (Luda!)
Some people like to drink
Some people like to smoke
Some people overthink
Some people overdose
I'm just trying to get the nicest
Bottles on ice
Pull some all nighters (why?)
'Cause everybody got vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices
Everybody got vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices, vices
Everybody got
Worry 'bout your own fu*king life (worry 'bout your own, 'bout your own)
Worry 'bout your own fu*king life (worry 'bout your own, 'bout your own)
Worry 'bout your own fu*king life (worry 'bout your own, 'bout your own)
Worry 'bout your own
Stay the fu*k up out of mine (stay the fu*k up out of mine)
Stay the fu*k up out of mine (stay the fu*k up out of mine)
Stay the fu*k up out of mine (stay the fu*k up out of mine)
Stay the fu*k up out of mine (stay the fu*k up out of mine)
I'm aight bi*ch

No spelling bee words but man he painted a picture, was relatable

I done k*lled so many n*ggaz in the booth I sell rappers on ebay,
Soldiers couldn't cause more disaster on D-Day,
Haters better cover up they jaw like freeway,
Cause every hit records spit instant like replay,
Hold the line I got ya momma on 3-way,
Tell her Ludas got more records than the DJ,
Tell her she should blow me like candles on ya B-Day,
Cause I've signed more lines then she's passed on the freeway,
More checks then you ever could imagine more wood up in my whip then in a forest full of cabins,
And yes I stay high on that purple like Aladdin,
And Women say I talk more game than John Madden,
How'd it happen how the let me in the booth,
How they let these rappers lie how dare I tell the truth!
I'm the truth and these other boys phony, it's a movie so act like ya know me.
I'm A lyricist to the death so I got what ya need, Ludacris,
I'm the last of a dying breed,
And we almost extinct so I'm saying it loud,
Say it with me, (MCs move the crowd) [Repeat x3]
I got it baby,
And I'm a MC I move the crowd like Moses,
Like the Red Sea I wear red like roses,
Go against me and you'll be dead like roses,
Spittin' at ya head full of bread like toaster,
Never had a holster, I keep it on my lap,
And Hip Hop aint dead it just had a heart attack,
What you see I keep it pumpin yeah I got that hard back,
So just call me Little Carter or Little Cardiac,
Precious like a artifact, Valuable like a quarterback,
Hannible like they call me jack, Fall back like a starter hat,
Nah did he thought of that,
I mean how did he think of that,
I mean how did I think of that, Now like a rental bring it back,
I mean how did I think of that, I surprise myself sometimes,
Someone should throw me a surprise party for every line,
Every time I do what I do I do it dirty like swine for the dirty and fine hip hop I'm alive!
I'm a lyricist to the death and I got what ya need, Weezy F,
The last ofa dying breed, and we almost extinct so I'm saying it loud,
Say it with me (Mcs move the crowd) [Repeat x3]
This is music muscle mania, my verses on steroids,
Private planes I'm on the jet son like Elroy,
Flying through the sky at amazing speed,
We on that superman kush or that amazing weed,
The new Bentley came out my team said LUDA GET IT,
Twenty thou says that I'm the only n*gga WIT IT,
New Era on ya brain like a A-Town Fitted,
And I'm not E-40 but I'm so sick wit it,
Now my flow got the flu,
Hoes I gotta view, but I'm stingy with the dough I'm like no not for you,
What the fu*k was you thinking?
Off what I'm banking, Me and Wayne on that lean what the fu*k was you drankin?
Stinkin' like a dead body up in the woods,
So I stashed it like a weave coming up in the hood,
And if you down for no bad then we up to no good,
And it's important that you make it understood
I'm a lyricist to the death so I got what ya need, Ludacris,
The last of a dying breed, and we almost extinct so I'm saying it loud,
Say it with me (MCs move the crowd) [Repeat x3]

Intelligent and ignorant wrapped in one
Ti has a more extensive vocabulary and tends to talk more about introspective sh*t, and being more of a boss drug dealer type. Luda makes anthems. Only anthem ti got is rubberband man. With that said, if I'm at the club and it's a throwback party. Throw some Luda on, if I just take ti club hits I think I date that cumulatively around 2013ish type of sound. Luda is more 95 to 2005 ish. The eras of their actual careers overlapped, but their dominance came at different times with different appeals.

I can agree with this. But I think the difference with luda has no song that justified him as being listed as a GOAT lyricist.

Whereas C2 was Wayne making that statement. Not the best LYRICIST, but the best RAPPER. Luda was deemed best LYRICIST. When it wasnít his lyrics, it was in fact his delivery etc

Personally...I like a lot of his songs...

He's not the greatest rapper ever...but definitely one of my favs...when one of his tracks come on...even his cameos...dude delivers...

One of my favorite lines he said was...."...More sh*t out on the streets than evicted tenants.." and he held his own on songs with some of the greats.
