Nothing wrong with their marketing. It's the fact that their product lineup is as weak as it's ever been.

Jobs was the creative, Cook is just a supply chain guy. Until they get another mind like Jobs in there to man the ship, the product line will continue to be stagnate.

Eh...stanning aside I think mobile tech as a whole (including apple) has reached a ceiling.

And I stand by that the marketing is a little dated everything from the actual presentations, hype videos, and commercials. It's time they just go in a different direction... and if they decide to do any major product changes the marketing can also get a refresh.

As someone mentioned the brand is on coast mode since Jobs died... not a bad thing, but everything has a shelf life including the current marketing.

They just need to redo iOS. There's not much you can do with the design now.

It's not just mobile. Their entire lineup is lackluster. Sales are down across the board for all 3 major product categories: iPhone, iPad and Mac.

There's nothing wrong with the marketing. The marketing machine is as strong as ever considering Apple is still the most valuable brand on planet Earth. It's the products themselves that people are starting to dismiss. Sales prove this.

If they make a revamp of the product line, or even decide to just match the competition, they can use the same exact marketing strategies and sales will still be booming. If they continue down this path of non-innovative product releases but decide to "revamp" marketing, sales will continue declining.

I feel like the battery shutdown issues with the iphone 6 & 6s acted as a counterbalance for it. In fact I feel, if apple doesn't address or fix the battery issue before the iphone 8 is unveiled, that the iphone line might actually be done. It screams planned obsolescence & if consumer confidence in the product drops it would be a wrap for the company.

I don't think dissatisfaction with the product is as big of a factor as you'd expect. It's a factor of course, but a lot of people that I know wait one the new releases knowing there will be bugs and sh*t that have to be sorted out. So by time they feel confident enough in the product to purchase, the new phone already has a rough date for release. Couple that with the terms of upgrades for most service providers (aside from stuff like Apple Forever) it makes sense that they see some drop-offs.

Maybe the cuts in his pay can go to upgrade the suicide nets on their China factory

Real sh*t. iPhone 6s plus was my first iphone, and was replaced with an android 4 months later. I know it's subject to opinion, I guess, but I really feel like you would have to be an idiot if you think an iPhone compares to any flagship android

When you go from one of the most brilliant minds ever known in our technology history to just an above average smart person... there will definitely be a drop-off

I said from day one that when Jobs passed... There would be no way Apple would continue to live up to the reputation and standard he set... And this coming from a person who hasn't been a fan of Apple products in at least a decade...

But Jobs was brilliant he knew how to build hype and live up to the hype with solid innovation...

Tim Cook just using Jobs playbook isn't going to cut it because he doesn't know how to adjust... Cook and really no one will ever live up to Jobs standards... It will take a while for people to lower their expectations of Apple before it begins setting new heights again

steve jobs aint no brilliant mind. He just knows what people want, gotta stop hyping this guy like hes some super genius. A lot of people think of things and have great ideas they just dont have the income or people that can make those things. Tim Cook just does a horrible job at that, simple sh*t like removing headphone jacks and making pcs where you have to buy dongles.
