Though Brady doesn't look like the Brady of recent years past, he also has the worst supporting cast on offense that he's had so far all decade.

The Patriots offense that started this season with Josh Gordon, and briefly Antonio Brown, looks very different from the one on the field now. There were flashes of the old Patriots during garbage time of last night's game, though. I've also seen a lot of dropped passes which these metrics didn't account for in addition to the utter lack of pass protection Brady has had all year. But I also see a Tom Brady less willing to take shots in the regular season for as long as his team is capable of giving him a 10-2 start to the season.

Playoff Tom Brady is going to stand in the pocket longer and take those hits in the playoffs in elimination games. The Patriots have been careful not to ask too much of him this season, which is evidenced by the number of uncharacteristic forced passes we've seen from him so far. A lot of that is the offensive line just not doing their job (Marshall Newhouse was the biggest culprit, who was just replaced by our starter Wynn), but a lot of that is also the Patriots' inability to put all of their cards on the table while the playoff bye is still intact. There were similarly games last year which I considered acceptable to lose in the regular season because we would not make that mistake again against the same team come postseason. Obviously I go into watching every Pats game with the expectation of victory, but there are games in the playoffs that are very distinctly fought for on an entirely different level than what we see from New England throughout the course of the regular season.

Physically we are still seeing the Brady capable of throwing for 500+ yards in the super bowl. It's just a matter of how easily we can find the weapons to surround him with to facilitate him being able to do that. I'm not expecting us to return to that arsenal again, but we are working with arguably the best defense the league has seen in quite some time to compensate.

Not every championship season needs to be a peak Brady season. Brady just needs to show flashes of his prime in every playoff game while the defense does its job. The smart money is still on New England taking home another Lombardi this year.
You wrote all that for what? Just admit Brady is having one of his worst years and move along.

So why were they terrible with Mariota at QB

Tannehill is playing great since taking over and turned this team around almost singlehandedly gotta give credit where credit is due

But it means everything about the QB.... what happened to Brady making stars outta bums?
It means he's playing well but it doesnt mean Tannehill is better than Brady.

Which one of these things WASN'T true when Mariota was the starting QB?

1. Derrick Henry forces teams to play 8 in the box
2. Tannehill taking advantages of one on one across the field.
3. They have some speed and talent at wr.
4. Henry will eat any zone nickel quarter dime coverage.

The only think that changed when Tannehill took over is that Tannehill is taking advantage of things that Mariota didn't.

Tennessee scored 43 points in their first game (vs. Cleveland) and only scored 55 points in the next five. They'd just been shutout by Denver and their season was circling the drain. The y witched to Tannehill and not only saved their season, but are also making a run at a playoff spot. It's not ALL Tannehill, of course, and I'm not blind to Tannehill's tenure in Miami, but I've got to give him his due props. He's definitely contributing to making the team better.

Tannehill is Mariota celing at this point. Tannehill a pro been around looks good when favorable matchups are on the field. Mariota cant read defense that well

Boy shut the fu*k up. Did Wilson not throw a pick playing volleyball yesterday? Did Wilson not throw a pick in the red zone against us that could have lost the game (and a fumble also). Did lemar also fumble sunday?

Difference is he they had a kicker who nailed his kicks and we didnt. QBs make turnovers...none are perfect. If your going to go back on any game that was decided within one score and point to a turnover ur dumb as hell.

Its cool..ur part of our dumb a*s fanbase that wanted TO, Garcia and mooch gone...then we suffered at the bottom of the league. Then yall wanted harbaugh, Smith, Kapoor, Crabtree gone....bottom of the league for years. Maybe you'll get ur wish again.

10-2, top 10 qb ratings and best qb play weve had in 20 years and ur bi*ching because you feel one turnover lost us 2 games and we're not 12-0 lmaooooooooo

Do you hear urself? Ur criticizing him Cause we're not 12-0
