Jun 7 - Asheville NC police release list of calls officers will no longer respond to

ASHEVILLE, N.C. —
The Asheville Police Department on Wednesday released a list of citizen calls that officers will no longer answer in response to an alarming number of officers who have left the force.

The release stated that 84 officers have quit since Jan. 1, 2020.

"As a result of the staffing crisis, several changes in officer response will go into effect immediately in order to improve response times for emergency calls made to 911," according to Public Information Officer Christina Hallingse.

Officers with the Asheville Police Department will no longer respond to the following types of crimes:

Theft under $1,000 where there is no suspect information (this does not include stolen vehicles or guns)
Theft from a vehicle where there is no suspect information
Minimal damage and/or graffiti to property where there is no suspect information
Non-life-threatening harassing phone calls (does not include incidents that are related to domestic violence and/or stalking)
Fraud, scams, or identity theft
Simple a*saults that are reported after they have occurred
Reports that do not require immediate police actions and/or enforcement (information only reports)
Funeral escorts
Lost/found property
Trespassing where the property owner does not want to press charges
In addition, noise complaints made during normal business hours and after-hours may have a significant delay in response, Hallingse said.

Victims of the listed crimes can use the Police to Citizen online reporting tool to file a police report, Hallingse said.

Anyone who does not have access to online reporting can call 828-252-1110 to have an officer respond when they are available. This type of reporting may result in a significant delay in response, Hallingse said.

bass- music instrument

bass- fish

well same goes for the word "DEFUND"

it doesn't mean get rid of

it doesn't mean they don't want it

they just want funds that go to riot gear and tanks, to be used for better training

hope you have a nice day

So basically all the sh*t that only clowns call 911 for?

There's a non-emergency line for a reason

I remember when I was like eight my neighbors used to call the cops on me and my friends skateboarding in the cul de sac and the cops were always so pissed they had to make an appearance

"Yes, you geriatric fu*k, the grade school children are playing outside. What do you want us to do?"

Probably because being a cop was a thankless job for the good ones before the media painted them all as k*llers

Spent ten years in the streets and Iprobably have 150+ police interactions and I honestly don't think there's a worse job than policing as it stands right now

I mean for a someone who didn't graduate college and has no trade it's the easiest way to a stable life. But no one is forced to be a cop so I don't really feel bad for any of them in that respect. Job is definitely tough, and thankless. But that don't mean these kats ain't constantly out of pocket.

Ps.
It ain't that they're all k*llers, it's that for the most part they will protect the k*llers in the ranks to the detriment of the public. Only one cop shot Laquan McDonald, but a dozen of them drafted reports that supported the shooter's version of the facts, collected cctv from the burger King, then actively sat on the body/dash cam. fu*k go read the MPD's original press release of George Floyd's murder.

Yeah, I'm also Canadian, so most of our police have way more oversight (in terms of dealing with the public). I.E everyone has a boss that has never met them before somewhere down the line

I only ever felt harassed by one officer in particular and once I got detained by a supervisor I snitched on his a*s and the supervisor went over all his interactions with me, apologized and I never saw the harassing cop again.

This actually makes sense and is somewhat what people wanted in the first place. No need to send 10 officers for a counterfeit $20 bill for instance.

Anyone who quits a job because they can't be racist, abuse citizens, and terrorize communities can go fu*k themselves.

The police think they're intimidating people by saying they won't show up for civil disputes...Good...they shouldn't

sh*t its quite a few of those that they won't show up for when you call 911 anyhow, they'll just ask you to make a report.

Remember the incident where the police literally asked the mental health hospital nurse to help them calm down an autistic/special needs man..and while the nurse was out there trying to help him one of the cops randomly shot the nurse..when asked why he shot the nurse the offending cop literally replied that he didn't know

Kinsey said when he asked the officer why he fired his weapon, the cop responded, “I don’t know.”

I agree 100% the less interaction the better. Prevent these Karen’s from escalating minor situations into something potentially deadly. Sorry bi*ch a black man walking on the sidewalk doesn’t require a police investigation.

Specifics are key to communication in all languages. Those pushing for defunding should properly present their solutions to those willing to listen to them instead of stating them vaguely.
Things often get lost in translation, especially within the game of telephone. The message will be distorted and words politically played upon by the opposition if granted an opportunity to do so.

Right.

What happens is when they get to the scene about the noise complaint they usually don't leave u til they find something or someone.

Never fails, 5 cars show up to a noise complaint and now they're checking people IDs they deem "suspicious" using the premise of the "noise complaint".
