Honestly I got to shout out Jamaicans for their involvement in creating hip hop because their party culture with the DJ/Selector, toasting, etc is hip hop. Plus Dancehall caught on in the states if you on the East Coast especially NYC or LI cause n*ggas be Caribbean and have dancehall functions that be better than most parties.
South Florida as well

Black culture should be Black-owned. It's time to celebrate. how could you hate or have something negative to say about that.

What are y’all takes on this?
It's some truth to it but it's people who have always been Indie or someone like Rocafella who always made deals work for them as a partner ship.

You're wrong. Try again. Jay is a valuable business partner to live Nation. He'd get rapino fired before the other way around. Y'all need to learn game. Rapino isn't a billionaire or anywhere near it, he's the CEO of a public business - not that hard to figure out his earnings. Btw, you can also purchase live Nation stock (NYSE: LYV) if that's your inclination.
Keep thinking HOV has that power

You think the largest touring company in the world that has a damn near monopoly over venues and production companies would be devestated if Jay Z left? Y’all seriously over values Hovs worth to the business world. I give credit when it’s due but live nation was successful before the partnership and will be without it

I always was curious about the ownership structure of roc Nation because when Jay dropped that line on Rick Ross 3 kings, I was wondering if Jay the boss of Roc why is he asking for 275 Mill to reup a deal with Live Nation?

Then I started realizing that he may not be in complete control or independent because Live Nation is essentially what Def Jam was but just a touring company focusing on live performances and management.

It reflects in their press releases and the expansion of Roc Nation with constantly new "partners", Roc Sports being co partnered with a major talent org such as CAA etc

It always made me question based on Jay's history with corporate America I wonder how much ownership does he really have over these entities cuz I get the feeling Live Nation and CAA is the ones cutting the checks, pay overhead and using him as the star to attract other stars and split the difference or remainder for himself and Jay Brown.

Most of them are but most people in general have employee mentalities

How you gonna expect people who come from literally nothing to know how to manage their money plus an entire business and other employees

Theyre artists not entrepreneurs

Now give the rest of american culture that same energy d*ck head

Jay owns 50% of Rock Nation, he sold half of it to Live Nation almost a decade ago after Sony gave him the money to start the company.

Diddy does not car about Bad Boy Records anymore, he just gets a check cut to him. He gave up control years ago to focus on Revolt TV and his Ciroc investment.
In my opinion I don't think Jay ever sold it, it was always a 50 50 partnership with Live and if I was to guess its with Live having 51-49 (or something in that range) because their the ones covering the overhead and cutting checks.

When it comes to Diddy, to me revolt isn't his either. It's one of those vanity channels that Comcast gave Diddy because they were trying to get a merger thru and as consession, gave an minority owner a channel as part of representation. I believe it's really owned by Comcast

I think the bigger issue than who owns what companies is about what message they're pushing with that ownership.

Not owning the labels is one thing, not owning the message is worse.

Capitalism doesnt promote what we’re suggesting tho. Black Panthers were practicing socialist ideals for a reason.

Tweets like that are detrimental to any forms of critical thinking and just perpetuate self-hate.
They will always attack people that dont have the "hive" mindset. Sad we can only hope that the food im eating is good from here on out. Why are you reading this ..........ok two more sentences and I will stop. BX was misunderstood as Bronxden and belgium. Some say chronicles of Narnia spread the hive mentality of into certain people
