It's better to enjoy your money when you're young though. I agree you should save but man, when you're 25 live it up too. You're going to be 70 and start doing things you always wanted to do? Who knows if the world will even exist then.

Carpe diem. Live now. Enjoy yourself.
Or you can be the broke guy living with regrets when all his friends and family dont have to work and have businesses because they invested and were smart with their money. There are 25 year olds that are millionaires so age and money have no direct correlation. Financial freedom and living life on your terms later on in life is better than working 9-5 until your 65 because you didn't have a strategy or game plan on what to do with rhe money.

However, if you have a wife and kids then of course follow Shaq's advise.
you can save/invest and live your life at the same time

tbh if you just stay down in your 20s and be smart with it

you can set up your entire life of never having to worry about $$$ again

outside of maybe being in your physical prime; virtually as a man everything gets better with time...

if you enjoy yourself don't be reckless... lots of older folk still working jobs they hate cuz they can't afford to retire...

without taking a hold of your financial future; you risk falling into that trap

The average person cant save almost 75 percent of they check and eat off rest If you make at least a stack a week after taxes you can. .
Save 10% or more of your earnings. Then use some of those savings to make you more and invest in something with them, save money from those investments and put it into others. Each investment is a child or to make you more money

great book on this subject. It's explained in a story-like mode

keep it real... try to play how little you can spend money games with yourself

see how long you can go without stuff see what you really enjoy

like I don't spend that much money eating out... that's on occasions

don't spend much on clothes... awhile back tho was buying few rapper merch t-shirts

don't go out much... on occasions go to concerts/music festivals...

It's hard for me to meet someone like Shaq at eye level. Had he become a gym teacher what advice would he have? It's easy to tell someone what to do with the money when you have more than enough to invest.

If I was making millions a year. I know I'd be a lot more caked up than I am now.

I dont know if you're being facetious, but thats just the gist of it theres other lessons/tips. At minimum do 10%, you underestimate how much the money you spend and save can accumulate and how much money people spend on sh*t they dont need where they coulda used that money to open a shop on ebay, get into the sneaker resellers market and other things. What you choose to invest it on is on you, you still gotta do your own research and might fail the first couple of times. Theres no excuses tho if you cant say 50% try saving as much as you can and cut unnecessary things out of your expenses. Im not saying you gon open up a starbucks on your first business or investment

it's mindset of money

just cuz you have money don't mean you're smart wit money

that's why athletes and lottery winners go broke

someone with a poor person's mentality with end up poor even if you give them 100M's

there's people making like 300k but spend like 300k a year

thus have literally no wealth...

you just have to start where you are

at whatever income level you're at now

start with paying off debts and saving more than a few months of emergency funds

read the automatic millionaire...
