Blacks lost, again. Honestly, what you expect nowadays? Rappers are rapping about "redbones" and "caramel" skin complexion women. You rarely (if ever) hear them saying, "give me a dark skin chick." This is a problem in the black community, but people tend to ignore it.
I mean, you don't even have to guess anymore, 9 out of 10 times a brother is going with the lighter chick —unless she's fat (brothers still might run in that, though).
There's nothing wrong with admitting you like women of all colors, but simply choosing a girl because of the color of her skin is what most people do. Skin color is an attribute of looks, and you'd be lying if you said you don't care about looks.
I wonder how the dark skin sisters feel when they hear these rappers rapping about lighter girls throughout their raps. Meanwhile, the brothers are listening to the music for hours. Now, I'm not saying hip-hop music is the causation of what is going on in the black community, but I believe it's a contributing factor.
Rappers need to think before they get on the mic and start rapping, but I don't hold them responsible for anything.
Lil Kim isn't helping. There are people out here who want to do what she's doing to herself. If this makes them happy at the end of the day, I guess it's okay. But, don't be surprise when two light skin partners are having dark skin kids more frequently.
