he is a bit overrated. ill give him ready to die as classic. but his second one isnt all that, although it had some sick tracks.
i used to think he was top 5. i even had him in my top 5. after thinking about it, he wasn't to versatile with his rhymes. he is at the most top 10
he was raw as sh*t
He wasn't versatile? sh*t, anyone remember Nas' double time flow on "Big Girl" back in the day? Biggie k!lled "Notorious Thugs" with his double time flow, and still made songs for the clubs, for the streets and for bi*ches. If you don't think Biggie is versatile you're an imbecile.
Also, Lil' Wayne is not top five. His random metaphors are sh*t. So, since people are so impressed by lackluster crap now-a-days since they don't know what good music is and think popularity dictates quality, then they would a.ssume Biggie was lazy and not as good as he truly was; since Wayne apparently is somehow considered the standard today.
It takes time to make a classic. sh*t, Nas made Illmatic over a few years and that is probably the best rap album of all time ... and he couldn't do double time flow properly. Something Biggie did.
