Crazy that the system dropped 26yrs ago. Top 3 system, don't care what nobody say.
My second favorite console all time. The goat wrestling games, Zelda OOT/MM banjo kazooie games, 007, and of course all the different Mario games.

I didn’t even know we had one till I found my bro playing mk trilogy locked in my moms room

I used to play Mario Kart and this trash a*s Star Wars: Phantom Menace pod racing game at Sears, while my family shopped, back in the day.

I wonder if anybody remembers this sh*t. Looks like they remade it in 2020.

It was kinda okay, actually. But I wasn't trying to bring the sh*t home, I know that.

And Mario Kart was okay, but kinda goofy to me.

I know a lot of folks viewed it very highly, but I very much preferred something like Crazy Taxi on Dreamcast. I'm Sonic over Mario gang, tho.
I bought this game from Blockbuster for like $10 (they used to have the carts with discounted movies/games). I was disappointed. Same thing with Superman 64!

One game I got from Blockbuster that i liked but think was slept on:

Traded in my PS1 for one at Funcoland. If Nintendo hadn't pissed everyone off sticking with the cartridge format, it would've blew PlayStation out the water.

Top 5 games for me
Conkers Bad Fur Day
No Mery
Smash Bros
Donkey Kong 64
Ocarina of Time
PPL SLEEP ON CONKERS BAD FURDAY YO!!
For me it was

Top 5 for me no order

1.mario kart
2.wcw vs nwo revenge
3 goldeneye
4.super Mario 64
5. Legend of Zelda ocarina of time.

64 got hella classics.

When was this my sh*t came with 1. I had a launch day console . Got it a month after it came out it was just sitting in closet.

I remember renting star fox 64 from blockbuster back in early 97 and it came with the rumble pack. To this day new gen console controller rumble ain't fu*kin with back then.

Funnest game Ive ever played hands down were Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Kart 64.

That Super Mario 64 was game changer. Imagine going from 2 graphics and limited abilities to a 3d, free roam game where you have so many abilities. He could speak, jump/run on walls, do like 3 or 4 different flips, punch, kick crawl and a bunch of other sh*t. I was amazed when I played that game for the first time. I was glued to it for a long time lol. That was he number 1 game that year.

Til this day, pound for pound, Super Mario 64 is one of the greatest games ever made. It also set a standard for gaming. Nintendo showed their a*ses with that one.

Pretty sure all the games really worth looking into have been listed in this thread, repeatedly.

And all in all, it's about 15-20 games total, max.

Just something to consider. I know it felt like the rivers were kinda shallow, as an owner. And the games were expensive, with little 3rd party support. So let's not get all too nostalgic, in here. It was "okay."

Playstation, PS2, Dreamcast, Genesis, NES all really did have endless classics, in contrast.

Atari had a whole lot in the 80s, if not as many as the aforementioned.

I quit gaming after PS2 so I don't know, after that point.

Call of Duty looks interesting but to hear ya'll talk, game quality is not really improving these days with "advanced" technology. Could have foreseen that, somehow.

Technology is a nice "cheat" but doesn't make for the heart of a great game, and they're making them easier in general and therefore less rewarding. Stuff along those lines.

It could be Panel De Pon 64, but this douchebag is hoarding it and even with literally being GIVEN equipment to help dump the rom to preserve a lost piece of history, he appears to just be ignorant to holding from the public.

Reminds me of that Wu Tang record from back in the day.

man i missed the days where consoles were somewhat affordable, and not raise your blood pressure when the launch price is announced, but more importantly i miss when u actually buy the game with the game already in it so u can just slap it in and start playing right away, no DLC or online connection required to enjoy the rest of your day on your couch.

and plus, inviting your friends over and playing during the weekend was much better and more fun than online multiplaying.

but...the past is the past .....
I promise you bro,$199 wasn’t cheap back then. I know no one wants to hear this but video games are probably as cheap as they’ve ever been when you take inflation into account.

yup, that $199 is $360 adjusting for inflation. PS5 is $399 for the digital version.

ye but back then games were great and held their value and u also paid a one time payment for a full release. nowadays u might think games are cheap but added with the countless DLC's and micro transactions...thats where u end up spending more money on just a single game in the long run
