The only other guys in KD's tier talent wise that had this injury was Nique and Kobe. Nique bounced back and Kobe was 34 with a ton of mileage and other injuries.

KD is a unicorn. The same rules don't apply to him. He'll be back.
That's not how it works.
But you go in and cook

Nowitsky worked specifically on that fadeaway since he was in his teens.

It took him many years to master that. You don't switch over to it easily, and be like Dirk.
He won't have to do a fadeaway

All he has to do is jump and shoot

His arms are longer than Dirks

He does it now from the midpost all the time

Laphonso Ellis was giving the Sonics work in the playoffs during that huge upset. I kind of forgot about him
I got to go to his basketball camp when I was like 8 or 9

The only way I think of it is like this...had he won on his own team, he would be cemented at top 5 but he didn't so it's a wrap. I hate it too cause he a super baller. I can't imagine another player ever being like him

Tell me how it works then doctor. Saying that an athlete with KD's talent and measurables has the ability to buck the trend isn't that outlandish of an a*sertion imo.

It was crazy for Durant to play in that game.

He would have had the whole summer to recover. Now we're talking about him possibly never being the same, for the rest of his career.

n*ggas talkin bout his game doesn’t rely on being explosive. If that was the case, we wouldn’t be here.

U need to be quick (as apposed to fast) to play his type of slasher offensive. Yes, he can shoot the ball, and turn his back to the basket, but his ability to shoot is predicated on the defenders inability to stop his drive.

And even if he doesn’t look exposive, a 7 footer moving like chris fu*kin paul is explosive whether it looks that way or not.

The thing about dom is much of his explosiveness was based on entertainment. He didn’t NEED to score that way. All he had to do was scale back on the a**hole dunks and he was pretty much the same guy

I hope KD can recover cause this some bullsh*t. Fu*k the warriors. They should be investigated for malpractice. How u get a clear sign of a career threatening injury and clear a guy to play in the most intense setting the game has to offer?

I bet kids not waiting for that growth spurt to lose weight and stay light on their feet.

Kids are watching and will mimic. I know a lot of it is God given, but he changed the game as much if not more than Dirk.

Dirk played white boy ball and no defense, which extended his career. Kids should take note.

Fu*k all the 2 way player talk. A superstar is naturally going to be dominant on both sides when it matters, but your best player should not have to work that hard on defense.

If u can’t sign a rim protector and a 3 n d guy, that’s not the star’s fault.

With his height and that shot, he’ll be fine, but all that isoball and heroball is probably done.

Clap for em.

When that achilles decides to go it's gonna go he wasnt even doing anything all that athletic and pop. You know he was in pain because my man dropped the ball and said fu*k this.

But the Warriors definitely need to fire their trainer, Curry is always hurt it seems like Phoenix had the best one for awhile took Grant Hill from playing like 15 games a year back to practically his old self.

I feel bad for dude tho if he wouldve sat out the he's soft talk would never stop.

It's over for KD

Not having the same lift will effect his jump shot, he'll still be a decent shooter, but not automatic like right now. Plus, he'll be coming back at 33yrs old with the pressure of a franchise on his shoulders....unfortunately the deck is stacked against him

KD without elite bounce & agility is just Danilo Gallinari.
This needs lift to high point, arch ball and separate.

To sum up the article for those that didn't read. Not good
Basically 2 more half seasons of playing time, then out the league.

Although I don't like Durant, I think he'll be back fine.

They talking about the doctors ruled out an Achilles injury. I think everybody over 30 is a risk for Achilles injury. But thats my unprofessional medical opinion

I want him to come back 100% but he’s kind of frail so I don’t know.
Isn't it better for you to be slimmer on these injuries? Achilles injuries are almost a death sentence for big men. His skinny build will help him with this.

KD still got some youth on his side and the human body is incredible

if he rehabs it right and it heals properly he might have a solid 5 year run in him before it's time to walk away

he's 30

Brandon Jennings wasn't a backup when he got hurt. He started in Milwaukee and in Detroit. He was having one of his better seasons until the injury. Not sure how they got that wrong.
