Crazy…..

↪🔗
That is ONE FAN on one XYZ streaming site

Now take millions of fans on at least maybe 7 streaming sites playing all different songs by that artist yearly. They are making that {$25 a year} maybe in a week per couple of fans

I’d say “Go to a show” to support your favorite artist, but Boxden proves time and time again that nobody goes outside, whenever concerts are discussed here.
These rappers laugh at regular ppl for being broke. Calling ppl broke boys or broke bi#ch. Isn’t that crazy?

Artist never made money off of radio plays or album sales.
They only made majority of their money off touring.

why do folks think whining about that on the internet is going to change things?

If the artist wants to make more money he better work his a$s off to give fans a reason to see him/her live or cut a better deal coming in.
artists definitely made money off of album sales...this is a lie...and its about more than that...streaming has given labels and conglomerates complete control over the industry

One million people a day streaming 1 song tho...

Anyways, I still don't understand how streaming platforms generate enough money to pay artists and run their biz.

Like if Spotify got 20m custos paying $10 that's 200m a month. Lot of bread but I guess I'd like to see the streams there's thousands of big name current artists and legends that are played millions of times a day.

And I doubt the ads for the free platforms are paying enough

That's y prince ain't want his stuff streamed and I'm surprised he didn't have a will to prevent it for when he passed
ads and deals with all of the labels....music is big business the artists just get fu#ked

Build a massive catalog of content and you’ll make more than 100k with just a tenth of the biggest stars fan bases. Then travel and perform 5-10k shows across a state like Texas and you’ll be “up”. Streaming is for artists who know how to hustle. LE$ is a good example, making high 5 figs a month off his catalog on multiple platforms and doing a feature or two a month. Slim thug the same way. All them folks can travel in Texas alone and make a quarter. Mexican OT doing it now.

yall gotta stop acting like EVERY artist is some major label artist bro...for the field as a whole its hard to make money off of music alone...can you reach other people and sell more sh1t yes but MUSIC is pretty much worthless unless you're with a company tied to a streaming service that can make your sh1t super visible

Maybe I’m slow but quick multiplication tells me that lets say 100000 people stream a song within a day, the artist gets quite a bit of money from streams. That would be like $350/day from streams which is $120k+ a year OFF ONE SONG.

So where are the complaints coming from and why is he focused on what he gets from a single fan?

If you are streaming my music that often but I only get 25 bucks off of those streams.....the logical side of me says I just be trying to sell that fan something else other than music because they obviously like my product

Are these numbers legit? 20 times a day for 365 days would be 7300 streams for $25.
By the same metric when these artists get the #1 spot with 150000 streams first week they earned about:
150,000 / 7,300 = 20.547 * 25 = $ 513.67

So 1,095,000 spins equals $2500.00

I don’t see the problem here

Spotify is getting paid for advertisement and other things the artist will never know about.

Dude artists are making crazy money off music. There's local artists with no label or no deal still making crazy money just off selling their cds.

Music is changing people's lives and getting them rich and successful just off them rapping or singing over a beat. Music is making more money than the nfl, nba, nhl, boxing, ufc, etc...

No they didn't.
Artist made typically .15 cents a album.
It was never a big money earner for artists

if I bring someone to your platform 1 million times I deserve more than 2500 dollars....you can use those numbers to leverage all type of money from ads to other avenues

If i print a cd right now I can go outside and sell it for 10 dollars no one is taking a cut...that option is obsolete in 2023...you have to go through these companies to even release music at this point and thats the issue...not everyone is signed to the same deal or even has a deal...if you just use common sense the whole play is obvious
